Winding Creek Golf Club
About
Winding Creek Golf Club in Thomasville is an 18-hole municipal course that is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. It is a regulation-length layout that measures 6,367 yards from the tips. The design is a true target-golf test that is player friendly enough for beginners but will also challenge more advanced players. The golf course is perched atop one of the highest points in Davidson County. From elevated tees and greens you can enjoy dramatic views as well as some intimidating shots. It's a golf course that will most likely have you using every club in your bag. Though there is plenty of variety, the course isn't too formidable for high handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Winding Creek also has a putting green and driving range that you can use for warming up.

Cheap. Fun. Decent little course
Been playing here for years. Course overall is easy to moderate especially with the greens just being plugged. You can't beat the prices to twilight and golf now hot deals make it even more recommendable to others. Give it try I've never been disappointed
Links/Forest Hybrid Course
The course is a mix of a links style layout with lots of hills and a parkland course through the forest. So it's kinda weird because you'll get three links holes, three forest holes, and then another three links holes. There were also a ton of blind shots and elevated greens which make navigating the course tricky, especially if it's your first time playing here. Conditions were very wet as it had rained recently, and the greens were a bit chewed up. But the staff was very friendly and the facilities were okay. It's not a bad option, but maybe stay away after rain.
OVERALL: 6.1/10
Surprisingly hilly, and plays lnger than stated yardage
I was surprised and pkeased by thecondition and layout given the very reasonable price. I will definitely play it often!
winding is an appropriate name.
Great day at Winding Creek. Lots of blind shots, and serious undulations. A good test of golf.
One of the best values in the area
I play Winding Creek pretty regularly -- almost every week. The course is consistently in very good shape, minus the unrepaired ball marks left behind by careless people. The fairways are lush and the rough is challenging, but reasonably playable. Blind approach shots are the biggest nuisance of the course. There are five holes where you can't see the green at all, unless you're a gigantic hitter.
Highlights of the course are consistent elevation changes. You will have every lie imaginable during your round. The course offers up a handful of pretty simple tee shots, paired with an equal number of extremely challenging ones. When the wind picks up, club selection is very tough. The course isn't very long overall, but has a couple of monster holes: an all-carry, 200+ yd par 3 over water, and an almost 600 yd, uphill, dogleg left par 5.
If you're going to play this course, bring your A game, and you'll be fine. Otherwise, bring a dozen balls, as this course will eat them up.
Great Course and Friendly Staff
This is a great course to play wonderful staff and great set up. The staff was very curtious and friendly, pro shop very well stocked and the food was great... as well!! I will play this course again.
Rugged/Hills and Long Path(s)
The course was not horrible...it was just hill after hill, no joke, it seemed like it was uphill EVERY single stroke. And, the cart path was terrible, yet you HAD to stay on it and 3/4th of the time, your ball, if in the fairway, was up or down a hill, 20-30ft from the path. Made it difficult to navigate even if you DID shoot par.
A tough one
Course layout if pretty good if you have played this course before. Being my first time, it was hard to see the fairway and greens on a number of holes because of the undulating terrain of the course which is one of the reasons why it is a pretty course.
Pace was okay. Came in on my 1:30 tee time just as a tournament was concluding. It was slow slow slow, but I decided to play only 9 holes and cut to the back nine. I finished in 2 hours and left early, didn't play the front nine.
TallTigerwoods
Great course staff is awesome and will help you get grouped if you come alone and it’s a hilly course but nice to play I wouldn’t walk this course.
4 sets of fivesomes
First off was the staff. He was so rude!!! Told him about the fivesome and he said he didn’t care. It took 2 of us 5 1/2 hours to play the round. Snack bar food was aweful also. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Challenging Course
The greens were in outstanding condition. The whole course was in great shape. I used some golf now rewards and got a free round. What a bargain. I would spend the money for green fees here though, this course is sweet.
All around great golf course
The golf course is a fun and challenging course to play. Very hilly, it can remind you of a mountain course. Greens are kept up very well, much better than most including the more pricey courses. The rate is great, with twilight fees starting earlier than most, especially in the winter. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Great layout with blind shots, hills, valleys, a pond and a creek. Minimal sand bunkers and beautiful scenery.
1st time at this course
My wife and I really enjoyed this course. It was slightly drizzling rain but was still able to play without the course conditions changing a lot. A few tee boxes to green were confusing. We did get slightly discouraged due to a mower following us mowing at the end of #5, all through #6 and the beginning of #7. All-in-all, it is a good course and my wife and I will definitely return to play.
Golf course
I love playing this course . Can't beat the price for the expierence. I have played this course many times and will continue. I have never seen a time when the greens were not in good shape when several other places greens lost.
Double Dog Legs , Blind Shots
Nice course, full of double dog legs and blind shots. Other than target nice place. I wouldn't go back because of layout. Just wasn't for me is all.
