Decent value for the price. 5 hour round with no rangers to be seen. Waited 2-3 mins on every tee box. Some fairways needed some attention due to broadleaf infestation.. Greens were pretty nice with a bit of undulation.

Not the best course out there but for the cost to play it is well worth it.

I’ve been playing this course for about four years now. It has never been in better condition! This new crew that manages it is doing a stellar job. Fairways are much better and the greens are phenomenal. And it just seems to be a little better each time I go!

Always an enjoyable course to play and no course in the Triangle has better value ($32 to ride 18 on the weekends). Course is playing firm and fast due to the lack of rain in the area, but staff have done a very good job of keeping it in good shape. My friends really enjoy it as well.

Interesting layout. All of the greens but one were rolling true. If the greens were uniformly faster some would have nearly impossible. The pace was very slow at 5 hours.

You get what you pay for. This is a straightforward old school course. The people are very nice that work the course. No range.

The course was packed. it was Saturday, what else do you expect? All skill levels play Wendell, due to the prices that you can get, so it can be a little slow. They heavily regulated start times on the front 9 but didn’t at all on the back which makes it slower. Also the back 9 fairways were extremely dry and hard. Good for a bouncing tee shot, painful if you’re trying to dig in on a chip.

First tee time of the day, and played alone, so I finished in about 2.5 hours. At 10:00 the parking lot was packed and groups were lined up on the tee 1st tee.

The course was fun and the greens were rolling well. The course is hilly, narrow, and presents several blind shots. Accuracy is paramount, especially on the back.

Lots of rough spots on the sides of the fairways, but there hasn’t been much rain to help grass grow. Cart paths were terrible.

The price was a little higher than it should have been, in my opinion.

The course is is good shape. The pace of play was very good.

Fairways are awful, mostly dirt, mud, or cabbage grass in fairways as your lie. Sand traps are a joke. Greens are brutal. A lot of cuts and random marks in the greens that need repairs immediately. Was not told about a par 3 green being out of business, instead they made it in the fairway as if we should be fine with that. Been here a few times in ‘17, and ‘18, and I must say the course has fallen off a cliff. Never coming back again and I highly recommend not to play here. It isn’t worth your money when there are so many other quality courses in the Triangle area.

I’ve been playing at this golf course for about four years now. It was good under the old management and it is great under the new management. A lot of work has been done on the greens and it’s just overall a great value!

We used to play for $12.00 on golf now. Not sure why the price doubled? Play is still slow as heck and the course is in the same condition as before. I liked playing there but for the price there are better options. I'm not saying $240.00 is expensive, but is was a good deal at $12.00 . For a few dollars more you can play at Eagle Ridge, The Neuse or even River Ridge. For $20.oo you can play at Campbell which is a very nice course as well.

We took a chance on Wendell CC based on the reviews.. We came with low expectations... And I guess in a way the good news is that our expectations were met.

First the positives :

Super friendly staff - A+

Newish bermuda Greens are fast and roll true - A+

Pace was great for a Saturday, very little waiting - A-

Now the Bad:

Conditions are pretty bad... It's clear the club has suffered from long term funding issues... Very poor turf coverage and the horrific winter rain has clearly made things worse.

Poanna appears to be the primary grass... Again, without sufficient funding it's impossible lto keep Poanna at bay.

65% of Tee Boxes were mostly Poanna

35% of Tee boxes were mostly dirt

New Bermuda Champion greens roll true, are fairly fast (a good thing) but sadly just one year after the installation of the new bermuda Greens, poa is invading badly... A few of the greens already covered in the 40% range with poa... The majority had poa invasion in the 20% range. I hope the ownership can find ways to avoid a complete poa takeover of the very nice bermuda Greens.

The course is in good shape, considering all the rain this past winter. The greens are very good. The only thing is a slow pace of play by groups of foursomes and fivesomes.
