Wendell Country Club

I drove to the course on Monday 31 Mar but my golf now voucher was for 2 April. I tried to play for Monday instead for 2 April but the guy at the pro shop said “you have to talk to group now. So I played on Monday because I was at the course. I believed I should have been allowed to play on Monday because the course had been paid already with the 2 April voucher. I came back on 2 April and the pro shop said the voucher did not include a cart! I did not have access to the internet but when I looked at the voucher on group now when I got home it clearly said cart included! I feel I am owed $20 bucks. I never want to play this course again

I came to play on 31 Mar but unfortunately I had bought a tee time for 2 April 2025 . The person at the pro shop would not let me play on Monday because I had paid for Wed. even though the club got their money. As I had traveled some distance to get to the course, I paid for a round on Monday. I came back to the course on Wed and I was told that the golf now round did not include the cart and that I had to pay for the cart. The guy at the pro shop said that the Golf now round did not include a cart. When I look at my reservation, on line when I got home it clearly states cart Include! I feel that the cart fee should be refunded. I never want to play this course again.

I’ve been coming here for 15 years but I will never be back. The course may be the worst value in Wake County. $63 is beyond a joke. They have always been disorganized in the morning, and are not good at sending groups out to optimize pace, e.g., having a twosome wait for the other two to come to the tee but they were nowhere in sight. This forced a foursome 5 minutes later but the starter could have easily sent out that twosome with the group ahead already on #2, but instead this foursome slowed the pace by 45 minutes. This course is not bad, but not for $63, and not with a super slow pace. So many better options not far from here!

Course conditions weren’t favorable after a rainstorm earlier in the week, but that is NOT any fault of the country club. They do great at maintaining it. There were more ground-under-repair spots this time compared to previous times but that means it’s only improving. GREAT course layout, each hole is both fun and challenging. The pro shop is great, I wish they had a better/actual driving range, but you can still get plenty of practice at the net. Easily one of my top favorite courses for a smooth 18, and with the deals they offer it’s always one of my first choices when I’m looking for a round with my friends. 10/10 would recommend! Amazing staff also helped with a sudden time change in plans.

Dry Grass made it hard to find balls even in fairway fringes. Pro Shop & Starter staff very helpful.

Listing showed NO Driving Range although the “chipping range” Net allowed for good Driver warmup swings.

Really nice course. Good level of difficulty, can’t wait for the grass to turn green .

The only negative I can ever say is lack driving range but they have putting and chipping and mats where you cannot into a net. Course was fun, well maintained even after week of rain. Staff is always so polite. Such good food. Always take an opportunity to play here when I can.

Always fun playing the Wendell Golf Course. Great value for your money and for being in January the course is in great shape. I would recommend playing here from being a beginner to a low handicap player.

If you haven't played here in the last year or so, you'll be very surprised at the conditions! New greenskeeper is on point!

Nice new carts though.

Can't beat 30 bucks though.
