Excellent ',condition ...very friendly to a high handicapper.

Checked out Wendell CC to see how the new greens were doing. Much improved from the old bent greens. New greens a little spongy but roll well. Rest of course in so-so condition. Fairways have a lot of weeks in them. Course is fun and a good play on GN Hot Deal. Par 3's are challenging from the back tees.

The greens were in great shape. Lots of challenges with water on front 9. Very nice carts. Very nice club house. And great food at low price. I look forward to playing here again this summer.

I am pleased to announce that we have closed the front nine to reshape and resurface the greens.

The greens were so bad they should have closed the coarse!!

Worst greens I have ever played on. Every hole on the front 9 had greens that had anything but green on them. It was a mixture of mud, sand and dead grass. Some parts of the greens were even flaking up which made them unplayable. The back 9 was a little better but not even close to good condition. The rest of the course was in okay condition but not great. I don't mind playing on courses that aren't in the best shape as you can usually get a deal and know what to expect but this course should be 1/2 off with the condition it is currently in.

first time back in a while but won't be going back anytime soon. Course is neglected and the greens are in very poor shape.

Went out to Wendell hoping to have a nice pleasant round of golf but I got there and saw the practice green and was like wow. The greens were in terrible shape on the front and a few bad on the back. I like playing this course because it makes me feel good about my golf game but this was the first time I played it this year and man it was like rolling the ball in a bed of gravel on some of the greens. Hope to see it get better soon.

First time playing here. Won't be back for a while. Course had punched greens recently but you couldn't tell since about half the greens were completely dead and grassless and few others had large patches of dead spots. The few remaining greens were actually in decent shape. Fairways were mostly the same. Some of that is clearly due to all he rain we had this spring but I don't think the effort has been made for getting them in better shape.
I will recommend the chicken salad sandwich though!

Very nice people and a great price. Course is in poor condition with little grass on the fairways and greens. I really like the layout and scenic views. Great potential if condition improves.

Course and greens were in terrible shape. Putting on these things was pointless. Played this course last year and was in decent shape. They would have to pay me to come back to play this course.

Good course to take your wife. It was extremely slow and backed up. Worth it for the money since it was only about $20 for 18 holes. Greens could use some work. Good location for anyone living in downtown raleigh.

Fairways still dormant. Speed of the greens was inconsistent. Not a long course but a fun layout. Will be in better shape when summer heat arrives. Good price with GN Hot Deal.

I played the course for the first time the other day, not bad course needs a lil maintenance but ok enough to enjoy your round.

After some bad days of rain course was still in great shape. A great price to play 18 and ride. Eat at grill, had burger and fries that where better then average , tasty. The course was very open but had nice challenges of water and sand. I will be going back in the summer to see how this course really looks like when green.

So my buddies and I felt like trying Wendell country club because of the low price. The staff is friendly but there wasn't a starter, a ranger or sense of pace of play. This course is where all the good ole boys go to play. A bunch of hackers that have no appreciation for the pace of play, the course or golf as a whole. It took us 6 HOURS to play 18. And it wasn't just one slow 4 some. Some holes had 3 4 somes waiting to tee off. Even with the low price I can't justify going back. Play here if you like waiting on every shot.

Even though they've gone up $2 on a round, the course needs to have a little more attention, and very soon. A lot of the greens and tee boxes seem to be getting forgot as they are looking very neglected.

The price was amazing, only $15 for an 11:15am tee time. The front 9 was gorgeous, the greens were so well tended, they looked like they were spray painted. The back 9, however, was a different story. There were several greens that looked like sod had been placed over top of the green, and there was literally a 1/2" difference in elevation. Overall, it was an enjoyable round of golf!

A gem of a course in Wendell but well worth the trip.

Wendell is a fun course to play. It offers challenges to the skilled player and they novice. Tight fairways, but if you miss you aren't penalized in a major way.

Pluses: has open and tight lined holes for challenges. Low stress for the not so good player as most people playing are friendly. Overall course was in great shape.

Minuses: SLOW greens (I'm sure a roll and good cut would speed them up). Some greens have large dead grass spots.
