Great play for the price

The price was amazing, only $15 for an 11:15am tee time. The front 9 was gorgeous, the greens were so well tended, they looked like they were spray painted. The back 9, however, was a different story. There were several greens that looked like sod had been placed over top of the green, and there was literally a 1/2" difference in elevation. Overall, it was an enjoyable round of golf!

This course was fun to play.

Wendell is a fun course to play. It offers challenges to the skilled player and they novice. Tight fairways, but if you miss you aren't penalized in a major way.

Pluses: has open and tight lined holes for challenges. Low stress for the not so good player as most people playing are friendly. Overall course was in great shape.

Minuses: SLOW greens (I'm sure a roll and good cut would speed them up). Some greens have large dead grass spots.

very dissapointing - maintanence staff inattentive to golfers

Called ahead to inquire about greens. Was informed they were aerated with small tines 2 weeks ago and nearly recovered. They were not. When we teed off they began dumping large amounts of sand on the greens and then coming back to spread the sand. One of my most unpleasant rounds ever.

Excellent golfing experience

We play a lot of golf courses year round and most of the greens are okay. Wendell Golf and Country Club has done a wonderful job in maintaining the texture of the greens for this time of year.

Nice layout, excellent par 3 holes.

This is a really nice Tier 2 course. GREAT value for the money. Several greens are undulated, making them a good challenge. Decent length on a few holes. Few bunkers. Back nine has more tall pine trees lining kind of narrow fairways, making the back nine different and challenging from the front. A few excellent Par 3 holes over water. The staff were very nice. We will return and I want to improve my score now that I have a better idea of the course.
