Needs alot of upkeep
Rough extremely high, grass clipping left everywhere.
Staff was kind. Not many refreshments; pace of play was ok. Fairways ok but patchy at times and very narrow. Seems like it was a nice place before and hopefully someone restores it back to it's former glory.
Needs Time
I could see that there are improvements on the horizon and this course could be back to roaring shape soon. Rough was way too long. Should not lose balls in the rough. I will be back and cant wait to see the improvements. The greens were the best .
Work in progress
Nice layout, friendly staff but the course is going through a major make over so in its current condition makes the pace really slow because your spending alot of time looking for your ball in the 4 to 5 inch rough. The bunkers have grass growing in them making them unplayable and taking the challenge out of the course, so I wouldn't recommend playing it right now.
I was told the plan is to cut the rough down to 2 inches, and they are Purposely allowing grass to grow in some of the bunkers to actually make them permanent grass bunkers.
New carts are great, and they are currently working hard to improve their course layout. Can't wait to play it again when all the work is complete.
legend lake
Second time playing this course this year and it's not gotten any better. The rough is awful. 3 to 4 inches deep and if you are off the fairway, you have a real hard time finding your ball. Definitely needs some TLD. besides the rough being so deep, the traps are in awful condition. Wil not be back until I see a review that says the rough has been cut down and they have done something with the sand traps.
Course conditions
Course is a lot of fun to play.. pace of play is always good needs TLC… but
Course looks a lot better than how it did last year.. and Course just got a new superintendent at the start of the year.. was told he is working on course conditions this year with an few other big/smaller projects to start the season so we have to give him some time!! Looking forward to seeing the progress of this course by the end of the year..
Needs some TLC
The course had a nice layout. The maintenance on the course was mixed. The fairways were in great shape. Greens were a mixed bag. A few rough shape greens and some nice greens. The lake of Legend Lake was empty and an eye sore. The sand traps were not maintained. All of them had grass and weeds in them and no racks. The areas outside the greens and fairways were not cut and were beyond US Open height. Balls a few feet off fairway were impossible to find. Another sign of a lake of diligence or manpower from the greenskeepers. Overall a nice layout overshadowed by poor maintenance.
Legend lake
Hadn't played this course in a teally long time. Layout was fine but the course could use some TLC. The rough was really long and it was hardcto find your ball if you were off the fairway a little. Greens were good but some needed some patchinf. The sand traps were in terrible condition though and really needed to be either weeded or let go.
Needs some TLC
Outside of the bunkers and rough being wildly overgrown, I truly enjoyed the course. I love the lay out and the challenges the course can throw at you. It needs some work on the bunkers for certain and the rough was brutally overgrown, but still worth the price of admission. Just know going in that this isn't the Private club it was in the past and the conditions reflect that, but enjoy the course for what it is and enjoy the day.
Looks like they're selling the property.
The whole group was disappointed with course conditions.
Solid Course Fair Price
First time playing Legend Lake, overall it’s a solid place to play. The course is in ok shape, most of the holes I’d classify as good but they’ve let a couple holes on the back 9 go (particularly the bunkers on the 13th hole). Overall I’d recommend, it, good place to play.
Excellent Course
Great layout Challenging without being too difficult Recommend highly.
Staff extremely friendly
The pace of play was very slow and the course conditions were very disappointing! Play was so slow that we just replayed 1-9 because it would have taken hours! Saw several groups of 5 also on back nine! Very disappointed and this was our first time playing here! Staff was extremely friendly and nice though!
This is a poor course on several fronts. Their website touts that 400 trees were planted during the course’s construction, but they’d be well-served to remove at least 300 of those in order to improve the turf conditions, which (even given the price point) are shockingly bad. Many greens are diseased with crabgrass infestation gone rampant in the green surrounds, fairways are noticeably bare, and green speeds/conditions vary WILDLY from hole to hole. The paddock of holes east of Auburn Road near the clubhouse, 6-7-8-9, are in especially poor shape - the routing and design of these holes is poor as well; this section of the course needs to be renovated so that conditions aren’t so dissimilar to the holes on the other side of the road. Tree removal, better turf management, and a redesign of holes 6-9 need to happen before I’d consider making a second visit.
Another course being ruined by Ownership. This is the last year for Legend Lake. Tightwad owner puts no money in course. Going to be houses in 2024. Same qwnership as Fowlers Mill, which is going downhill fast.
