Needs some TLC
Outside of the bunkers and rough being wildly overgrown, I truly enjoyed the course. I love the lay out and the challenges the course can throw at you. It needs some work on the bunkers for certain and the rough was brutally overgrown, but still worth the price of admission. Just know going in that this isn't the Private club it was in the past and the conditions reflect that, but enjoy the course for what it is and enjoy the day.
Looks like they're selling the property.
The whole group was disappointed with course conditions.
Solid Course Fair Price
First time playing Legend Lake, overall it’s a solid place to play. The course is in ok shape, most of the holes I’d classify as good but they’ve let a couple holes on the back 9 go (particularly the bunkers on the 13th hole). Overall I’d recommend, it, good place to play.
Staff extremely friendly
The pace of play was very slow and the course conditions were very disappointing! Play was so slow that we just replayed 1-9 because it would have taken hours! Saw several groups of 5 also on back nine! Very disappointed and this was our first time playing here! Staff was extremely friendly and nice though!
This is a poor course on several fronts. Their website touts that 400 trees were planted during the course’s construction, but they’d be well-served to remove at least 300 of those in order to improve the turf conditions, which (even given the price point) are shockingly bad. Many greens are diseased with crabgrass infestation gone rampant in the green surrounds, fairways are noticeably bare, and green speeds/conditions vary WILDLY from hole to hole. The paddock of holes east of Auburn Road near the clubhouse, 6-7-8-9, are in especially poor shape - the routing and design of these holes is poor as well; this section of the course needs to be renovated so that conditions aren’t so dissimilar to the holes on the other side of the road. Tree removal, better turf management, and a redesign of holes 6-9 need to happen before I’d consider making a second visit.
Beautiful layout
Staff was incredible polite and professional! Beautiful layout - would highly recommend.
Great course
First time playing this course and I was very happy with the day. Pace of play was great, staff was very nice. The lady even explain to me the history of the course which is very cool. The course was kind of just flat but I loved that I didn’t have to worry about crossing over any creeks. Mostly wide fairways in good condition. Tea boxes felt like cushy carpet, and the greens were in great shape.very peaceful also. I will definitely return even though I drove from the opposite side of town, an hour to get there. I highly recommend Loyal Oak. There’s 27 holes, i’ll have to return to play the other 9 someday.
Excellent greens
The course has excellent greens. I went out after the morning regulars / members? and as I made my way around the course, was invited to play through by every group. A refreshing change from most courses. The staff at Legend was very friendly and helpful. I'd ask only one thing of the members. PLEASE fix your ball marks. There were fresh marks, lots of them, on every green. THX.
Another course being ruined by Ownership. This is the last year for Legend Lake. Tightwad owner puts no money in course. Going to be houses in 2024. Same qwnership as Fowlers Mill, which is going downhill fast.
