Ballyowen Golf Club

About
Ballyowen Golf Club is an homage to the great Scottish links courses, the place where golf originated. The course sprawls across 250 acres of rolling farmland that overlooks the Walkill River. The layout tumbles through valleys and hills, staying as true as possible to the natural contours of the land. Much like a traditional links golf course, the virtually treeless landscape is accented with craggy knolls. The challenging layout features lush green fairways that contrast beautifully with the pristine white sand bunkers and golden patches of rough that border the greensides. There are also water hazards that come into play on five holes. Ballyowen has earned the title of New Jersey's top public course and Golfweek has even ranked it as one of the top 50 courses in the country.

Links Course Experience
Need to be accurate not only off the tee but on your second shots too. Easy to make a double playing from the fescue. Take it easy going for the green in two on the par 5's
Gorgeous Golf Course
Amazing, Pretty and great golf course that you need to play here
Great course but only for the right price
There’s no surprise Ballyowen is the signature course for the Crystal Springs resort. Great layout. I went less than a week after they aerated and the greens were still in excellent shape. Amazing. Conditions are great. Staff is friendly. Even carts are nice (nice cushion).
The only thing I would say is the price. I went when there was a special price $105 to play. I also played here one time as a replay ($100). I think it’s worth it for sure. However, I wouldn’t recommend spending $230+ dollars. Sorry, don’t think it’s worth that value.
Starter was very rude.
Starter was rude and unkind. But we enjoyed the course with good weather.
Great venue for golf
Challenging and intimidating, the ruff was rough, the course overwhelmed me, played bad golf quickly, had an excellent time. Highly recommended for play, always good when you can clear water holes, strangely the 7th hole water should not be in play off the tee, but somehow found it's way to the water, had a great time
Conditions
Bunkers were like hitting off of pavement, really hard. Greens were in really good shape.
Fairways were nice.
3 hour 9
Worst value for the money you can get.
Pace of play absolutely ridiculous.. 16 people on a par 3 at one point.. Nice course for a public track though if you like, watching other people play.
Great for the Hot Deal!!
Such a great course. Even better with the hit deal! One of New Jersey best!
Best Course I’ve played in NJ
Easily the nicest public course I’ve played in New Jersey. $250 is steep but I’m a rewards member and we got out for twilight so it was only $75 for me and $90 for the rest of the group. When you’re paying that it’s well worth it and maybe even the best value I’ve ever seen. Greens are really quick, clubhouse and driving range are both beautiful and just everything about the course is perfectly manicured. Highly recommend this place, if you can get a deal it’s a must play
Not worth the price may be
For amount of money they charge, they don’t even provide ice cooler with your cart. Also, they don’t accept credit card or Apple Pay when beer carts come around. Pace of play awful. Course is beautiful but bunkers are not maintained well at all. I guess playing 1 time is okay but there are many beautiful courses in NJ with good amenities that will beat this price.
