MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Good round at a good price
Greens were receptive and putted true. Tees were a little patchy. Layout is great.
Can’t recommend
I’m sorry for that but there is just no grass on the golf course. We play in Orlando area every winter. Metro west is about as bad a course that I’ve seen. Lay out is good , if it was overseeded it would be fantastic.
Needs Work
The layout isn’t bad, but the course is not in good condition. Fairways were threadbare, the greens were small and fast. Perhaps it was a rather cool and windy day but this wasn’t our best golfing experience central Florida.
No More GHIN??
Course was in OK shape. It was not as good as it was a month or too ago. They do not overseed in order to save money. Too bad.
Also, GHIN no longer has this course on its list so you can record your score. Saving money I guess. As one of my home courses that I play a lot, that is not good.

Greens very fast...fairways were ok. Staff very friendly..overall pretty good. Course way better than it was not so long ago
lovely day in Orlando for golf in January!
The weather turned much warmer for our day of golf at Metro West- sunny and we ended up in shirtsleeves. Very friendly staff.
Nice little course
The staff are very friendly and the lady in the restaurant makes the best cocktails (Transfusion) :)
Greens are very challenging.
Not bad for the price.
Terrible Experience Here
I just want to share my experience at Metro West so others can be aware of what can potentially happen to you out there. My friend and I were putting from the fringe on hole 6 when all of sudden we got blasted by a high pressure sprinkler from 3 feet behind me aimed directly at the green. In a span of a second, my pants, socks, and shoes were completely soaked while my friend got his pants wet from the ricochet. My glove was ruined from getting wet as well.
While I was frustrated at what just happened, I’ve played courses that have the sprinklers come on (just never while you’re on the green of a hole) so I figured I’d call the clubhouse so I could find out what was going on and get them to turn them off. However no one answered the phone so we were forced to abandon finishing the hole. Since it was a cold day for Florida’s standards and everything was soaked, we knew it would be miserable to try and keep playing on the day.
We returned to the clubhouse to ask for a refund of the round but Alex from the pro shop could not have been more unprofessional. Not only was he unsympathetic to what just happened on the course, he would not give us a refund saying he could only give a rain check for 9 holes that we could come back and use another time. I asked him why I would come back at a later time if there was a possibility of getting drenched by the sprinklers and he said “it is what it is, we have a faulty irrigation system.” I asked him if he felt that was something he should disclose to players paying to play the course and he said no because the odds of it happening were so low. When I pointed out that it did happen to me, he still refused to take any accountability of it happening. Even after all the back and forth, the best he would do for us was a 9 hole rain check at a later date so we told him we don’t want it because we’ll never be back again.
Their customer service of the situation was beyond atrocious. I will never come back to this place thanks to the unprofessionalism of Alex. I just want to warn other players of my experience and tell you to go spend your money at another place that will do right by you when they are in the wrong. I would give them a 0 star review if I could.
Upgraded Conditions
We used to play this course regularly but the conditions went down. We were pleasantly surprised that the conditions have improved and it's back on our list. Good value compared to courses like White Heron and Kissimmee Bay. We will play again.
Bigs fairways
Easy course with perfect grass, good and fast greens.
Less people.
Perfect context to play golf in pace
Needs Management Assistance
Overall, the course is in good playable conditions. I often wonder why their website and GolfNow always has most tea spots open. These are my assumptions:
* several tee boxes are all chewed up with no grass. They need to move the tee markers more regularly.
* they’re trying to fool the tourist by charging over $70 to play. At best, this is still a $40-$45 golf course.
its BACK
Metrowest is in as good as shape as I have scene in 15? years. Been playing it since 2005 and this is the best I have scene in LONG time. Greens are rolling nice, fairways are back to grass and lush, they redid the traps with new sand, and all new golf carts. Pro shop does not offer much. Restuarant/bar is small and limited but course is back!! GREAT value for the money for season and shape its in.
We enjoyed the course, reminded us of home a bit (Scotland) will defo be back
Great staff !!!!
