MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Metro west
Course was in good shape aside from a few tee boxes
Steadily improving
Over the years Metro had fallen into a state of disrepair after several ownership changes. However, based on the last two times I have been here the course conditions are starting to improve.
The greens were in exceptional condition compared to years prior which is not something I expected if I'm being honest. The tee boxes and rough did need to be cut but as a green thumb I understand there are some times a year where things need to be allowed to grow and thicken, in fact, I played another course on this same day and their tee boxes and rough were not cut either.
The fairways used to be notorious for dead and dry patches but are significantly improved from previous years.
The biggest improvement has been on the 9th hole. Rumor has it a storm washed out a section of that hole and there used to be a huge trench that has been mostly filled in with just a few spots left that need attention. It's definitely noticable things at Metro are getting better not worse.
Only two complaints, first being the lack of rangefinder screens on the golf carts and wasn't told the distances were printed on the sprinklers (my guest had a HUGE issue with this) but I am aware the course is implementing them soon and when I arrived for 9am tee time the clubhouse was not open so I wasn't able to get ice before going out to play. Also, just a nitpick there was no sand in my box to fill in divots.
Staff extremely friendly and attentive.
Would recommend as it is the best value course in Central Florida.
MetroWest is Back!
This course has been absolutely dreadful over years past. Its not perfect but it is perfectly playable.
Good job.
The staff is awesome… Course is playable. With wide fairways and some great undulation. Highly recommend it.
Course has Potential
Average course with potential. Sad to see empty tee sheet. Always has many open slots. The rack rate much too expensive. Course could get more players if they charged less. Practice range not worth the money. Don’t bother if rate is over $45/pp. Was lucky to find GolfNow rate @ $34/pp.
Metro west
Course conditions were good except the tee boxes They need a do over
Great Track!
Greens were good, but slow.
Fairways good.
Tee boxes fair to poor.
Biggest problems for someone that hadn’t played there before:
No signs to show diagram of hole on card/website/tee markers/GPS. Many holes you have no idea where you are going.
Decent shape and getting better.
Greens were in good shape. Back nine fairways need help, very thin in places. Glad to see the improvements
So much better than it was.
The last time I played here it was 70 bucks. The greens were so bad. It was a three put on every green. It wasn’t from aeration it was from weeds growing all through the greens. I said I’d never be back. My friend played two weeks ago and said the greens were great. He wasn’t lying. The greens were the best I’ve seen in a decade. The new managers turned that place around..
Nice course
MW has made the turn from an "ok" course to being one of the better public courses in Orlando. Being wide open and well maintained makes for a fun day on the golf course. The staff told us the greens had been verticut, so they were medium speed. It wasn't an issue as they weren't bumpy or slow. It was nice of them to tell us. The bunkers were raked and edged. Stress free golf.
ENJOYABLE COURSE
Mature course surrounded by upscale residences in a surburban setting. Open fairways, well maintained. Staff helpful and professional. Greens had been recently treated but were true. Tee boxes for all levels. Carts seemed new and comfortable. No water or beverage cart on course. Price was low and well worth more, Will return.
