MetroWest Golf Club

Review is same as title of review. Course was in better shape last month. With all the rain how could it be getting worse? Less than a dozen cars in parking lot when I got there. Booked as a single, no one on 1st tee but the starter runs out and says I can't ride alone and I have to wait for another single and ride with a stranger. Have played there at least once or twice a month all summer and never been forced to pair up when it's not crowded. Won't be back after this. experience.

Most greens are ok, some are not.

Tee boxes are not ok.

Most fairways are in bad shape, the rest are worse.

I played here a few months ago and it was not great, but it was ok, now it's amazing how bad it got. Definitely not worth the price at this moment. Hopefully they can get it back to good shape

the lay out of the course is excellent the staff were excellent but the course the fairways have little to no grass most bunkers have grass in them better to make it a grass bunker

Nice workers but terrible kept course. Bunkers had grass growing .. tee boxes were just sand and fairways had no grass .. greens were ok

Avoid this course for the next year. The course conditions are the worst I’ve seen in Orlando among the non trailer park courses. They have now entered that category.

I've lived in Central Florida most of my life and finally decided to play Metrowest Golf course. Big mistake! Our group of 4 reserved an early tee time and we were sent off on time. What happened next (for the next 4 hours) was not good in any way! The tee boxes were some of the worst I've ever seen. Not cared for, weeds growing, sandy. The fairways were definitely the worst I've ever seen. Same as above...not mowed, not cared for, weeds, weeds, more weeds, and nothing I could call a fairway. The greens were the only positive part and it was still bad. None of our group rolled anything close to what would be normal. Thick and slow! The only green worth mentioning here as attractive was the 18th, only because it is what you see coming in. I honestly dont know where the money you pay for a round of golf goes...it certainly doesn't go towards maintenance on the course. The staff was welcoming as we arrived. I appreciate the friendliness they showed. It was professional and polite and gave us the idea that our round was going to be wonderful. It was anything but wonderful! This course was a bad experience the moment we reached the first tee box. Even if Metrowest were to offer a complimentary round...I would decline it! I usually do not write a review this critical but something needs to happen at Metrowest Golf. Something to improve it, or, close it!

I don’t recommend at this time .The fairways and some greens need a lot of work

It’s a shame this course has gone so downhill. Once a favorite of our group’s rotation, now we won’t be back for at least 6 months.

The fairways don’t exist. All weeds and sand. No telling rough from fairway. No sand in bunkers and all sand on tee boxes.

The one saving grace is most of the greens are in great shape. A little slow but rolling nicely.

The biggest issue was pace of play. Behind a bunch of 2somes and 3 somes and took 5 hours to play. Longest round ever played in my 10 years in Florida. To be fair, it normally is 4 to 4:15 at this course. Only takes one group to slow up the whole course but no ranger to mitigate slow play.

Play this course several times a year and this is the worst I’ve seen it in years. No difference from rough to fairway and no tee box green. Not sure what happened here but looks like it’s being maintained with a guy with a push mower and he ran out of gas last week.

Hope they get it back under control.

Worst conditions I have ever played. Parts of the grass hadn’t been mowed in ages and clipping were not picked up. I lost balls that were hit in the middle of the fairway due to the conditions.

So sad to see they are letting this course go. It use to be such a nice course. Tee boxes and all tall grass or dirt, there is tall grass in fairways and if you hit anywhere near the rough, good luck finding your ball, greens are only decent thing about the course but still slow.

Place has gone downhill. lots of weeds everywhere. Greens not mowed daily. Bunkers not maintained. Fairways mostly bare dirt and weeds. Looks like they have given up.

I’m very disappointed with MetroWest Golf Course. The greens had fungus, and the fairways and rough were bare in many areas with very little grass. It’s an interesting course that looked great about six months ago, but it now seems to be back to its pandemic-era condition. Given the poor course conditions, it feels far too expensive.

The grounds at MetroWest are in total shambles, which is such a shame because it’s truly one of the best golf course layouts in Central Florida.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, but the course maintenance is simply not where it needs to be. The grass is barely being cut. The bunkers are full of weeds, the greens were slow, the fairways were overgrown and sluggish, and crabgrass is everywhere. Large sections of the course appear to have been abandoned, with grass left uncut. There are huge piles of fallen trees and limbs that look like they’ve been sitting there for months—maybe even years—with tall grass growing all around them.

What makes it even more frustrating is that the course appears to be overstaffed in areas that don’t improve the playing conditions. There were two rangers, a starter, and several employees checking in bags. Just my opinion, but it would be far wiser to devote some of those labor dollars to maintaining the golf course itself.

MetroWest has the potential to be one of the premier public golf courses in Central Florida. The layout is outstanding. It just needs the level of maintenance that a course of this quality it deserves.

Every single green had a back pin. No middle, or front, all back pins, why? The course was in alright shape except for greens 17 and 18 were in terrible condition. If I had paid full price I would be totally disappointed. But with the GolfNow hot deal I purchased and my promo code and GolfPass membership it was only $15.00. I guess you get what you pay for.
