MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Save your money - Metro West went back to well, Metro West.
Good luck hitting a second shot from any of the “fairways.” They are all dirt and sand. Unfortunate. For a while it looked like this place might make it back. Put it back on the do not play list.
Really bad shape
I don’t know what is going out there but I haven’t seen many courses in worse shape than this. The greens were fine but the fairways and tee boxes are terrible. This used to be a solid course but they have really let it go. There is barely any grass to hit off.
I enjoyed the round
This course is closest to my home so I am glad to see it is recovering. Greens and traps were in great shape. Fairways have definitely improved from my previous round a few months ago. No starter on my day of play, but course was light and we were able to move along at a good pace.
In bad shape
Like the layout of the course. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in rough shape. Not sure if from lack of rain, but other courses seemed to have adapted. Also, was told no cart girl ona Saturday due to she went to a concert the night before. Not great on a hot Saturday. Staff in the pro shop friendly and the guy on the grill was very nice and made a good burger. Overall, just not worth the value of $70 with the course conditions and lack of service on the course. Also, we had to carry our trash from our food lunch around for half the back nine as there are no trash cans at each tee box, we did see some people just leave their trash out on the ground.
MetroWest Golf
Pleasantly surprised with course conditions and overall play was very good 👍
Mark the tee
This course was really fun to play. However, none of the tee’s are marked, and the layout is confusing. I have never played a course that doesn’t tell you what hole 🕳️ you are playing at the tee boxes.
Slow af
Pace of play was egregiously slow. Took almost 3 hours for 9. No ranger, called the clubhouse. Left at the turn
In need of a complete overhaul.
The course was not in good condition. It is in need of some TLC both on and off the course. The lady at the snack bar was friendly and helpful.
What an improvement
Metrowest was one of the best public courses in central Florida before it started to resemble a goat ranch. I had not ventured back there in about 6 months as things had gotten so bad.
I am pleased to report the course is vastly improved. The greens are in excellent shape. The bunkers have all been replaced/repaired resodded and the sand is perfect. The tee boxes are fine, there is enough grass around the greens to apply your short game and the fairways are starting to grow back. We were able to “play it as it lies” on a majority of the fairways as opposed to trying to find a patch of weeds to roll it on as had been the case.
Congratulations Metrowest- keep the improvements coming- hopefully you can regain your lost glory and will soon be above average
Metrowest GC
Greens were in good shape, most of the fairways and tee boxes were burnt out, we haven’t had much rain in the last few months. Bunkers were all replaced and re-sodded around the outsides. They are putting money back into this course, will take some time to fully recover,. Staff were very friendly and professional and efficient. Got drinks and food at the pro shop bar at the turn, very friendly and quick.
Not sure the price tag justifies the course conditions and no GPS or coolers on the carts, no water fountains or coolers on the course either. Bathrooms on the course need some work too
Metro West GC a good course to play
Nice layout. Greens were good. Friendly staff and pace of play was super as the course seemed full. I will play again.
Course Issues
Weeds on some greens. Senior tees (or no senior tees) are way out of usual lengths. Makes course extremely long for seniors. Ranger was very friendly but no other true amenities available. Pace was average because both my wife and I had to tee off from extremely lengthy holes.
