MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Good but...
Course setup is fun and varied. Fairways are mostly wide and fair which was great but the green conditions are a bit rough, and those last few closing holes greens need some love. Good amounts of that crab grass that derailed a pretty good putting day for the whole group. Course is setup wonderfully and never had a random group hitting onto our hole and the holes asked different questions which was fun. Attack a dogleg over water? Layup or challenge a peninsula green? Drive and drive a short par 4? I enjoyed it, just a bit disappointed in the green conditions.
Rough shape
For almost $100 you should probably save your money for summer rounds, greens and tee boxes are in bad shape and the fairways aren’t much better, played with some locals to the area and they said it’s a course that is just changing hands too often, used to be a Marriott run course and was nice at one point but not right now.
Poor Conditions
This place has such an awesome layout, one of my favorite in Orlando. However, the course is in very poor shape given they are charging ~$85 on the weekends. The greens on the back 9 are diseased and most fairways are chewed up.
We played in under 4 hours which was great but not worth the price tag.
Terrible shape
If you can find a tee time for in the $30 range, I'd maybe recommend it. Anything over, stay away. The greens are horrendous. I wouldn't even call them greens, they're just hard pounded black dirt. I don't understand how this course was in better shape this past summer than now. But yeah, it's a dirt track right now so avoid it.
Disappointed
After receiving many recommendations to golf this course, I was very disappointed. First off, I want to say that it was not the staff ( they were as friendly as any other course I’ve been to). The problem was the course condition and on course amenities. Staring off with the tee boxes they were bare and you only had a hole marker that showed the distance from the tips, there were no garbage cans or ball washers. Next, the fairways were very thin and had many bare spots and made it very difficult to strike the ball well. Third the greens were very tiny and had a lot of bumps( definitely needed to be rolled). Lastly the pace of play was ok after we passed a foursome that was passed by at least 3-4 groups before we got them, not a ranger to be seen all day. I can honestly say that I will not be returning to this course.
Unfortunately slow
We couldn’t get into a rhythm. I mean we let a single pass us. He left after 9 cause the people in front were slowing things up.
Terrific Course
I’ve reviewed this course a few times over the years and its condition often varied but over the past six months this course has been in consistently excellent condition. My family from out of town wanted to play and I knew they’d love this course’s layout and condition, which they did. They are already looking forward to playing here again next year. Since the layout is wide open with some elevation changes one often feels that you have a good shot awaiting you. The greens rolled very true and bare spots were rare or nonexistent on tee boxes and fairways. This might be the best value for the money as many courses charge more and deliver less. I’m hopeful it will continue to be maintained in its current condition. It would be awesome if the driving range was improved but such is rather minor.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I will start by saying I am a low handicap player and am giving a honest rating on this course. I recently played this course and was extremely disappointed. First I will start with the pro shop; the shelves are empty and the club house is a complete ghost town. There starter was nice but let a single go out in front of us instead of pairing him up with a group of three people that were also in front of us. We teed off in the morning and the cart girl did it show up at ALL. The one guy working the cart barn was a jerk.
Now to the course; I will say the greens were in good shape and rolled nice. The fairways looked like part of a goat farm and the tee boxes were uneven and full with dirt.
This will be my last time playing this course. I do not recommend playing this course at all. Waste of money.
Good for the price paid greens rolled good, we played it down in the fairway they were better than they looked ,tee boxes need some work but plenty large enough to deal with. Hope to play there next month when we’re back in town
Good course but need yardage markers
Really enjoyed the course. Good layout and greens were in excellent condition. Only disappointment was the lack of yardage markers and given no GPS on the carts, this made a rangefinder essential.
Thankful for Metrowest Comeback
Played Metrowest on a beautiful morning and was not disappointed in the course at all! Great greens and the rest of the course was in good shape. Fairways were very playable and greens held good shots, nice to see the course is coming back! Staff was very friendly and the beverage cart was outstanding!
Wide Open & Forgiving
Very flat and wide open. Limited hazards. Conditions were ok but a bit like playing a dry farmers field. Good pace of play. Guys at bag drop were very welcoming - pro shop and bar could take a lesson. Wasn’t a very picturesque course.
Satisfactory
This course is priced right for travelers looking for a good course at a great price.
Metro West is Back,,
Greens, fairways, tee boxes, bunkers,, All in very good shape
Greens are as good as any high-quality resort golf course.
The greens, across the board, absolutely fantastic. Fairways were good and on their way back. Tee boxes are a work in progress. You can tell they’ve really put some effort into this place. Can’t wait to play it again.
Greens Are In Great Shape!
Greens are in great shape right now. But their standard pricing is a bit high.
