MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Metro west
Tee boxes and fairways need help but the greens were perfect
Likes and Dislikes
If you don’t pay a ton of money for this course then you won’t be disappointed. Metrowest is playable most of the greens are great. There are a few with patches and zoysia weeds in them.
Some tee boxes are good and some you struggle to find good footing. The rough is rough. The courses isn’t “bad” per se, just not crisp and sharp.
And lastly, we saw a lot of water being wasted on the street and water the bunkers which look to all have new sand in them. For a course trying to make its way back, spending money to ruin the new bunkers you just paid for or to run water into a storm drain doesn’t make sense.
I gave it a 4 star because it’s not as trashy as the 3-stars on this site and if they keep investing then it’ll get ready.
Great layout, great pace, but WAY overpriced
Tee boxes were horrible. Fairways below average. Nice greens. $65 with cart is too high which is most likely why the pace was great. Played with 3 adults & a 10 year old and only had one two some who we let play through.
Great layout but…..
The course conditions are just not good. Not much grass on the tee boxes or fairways. Nice layout but for the cost not worth it to me
Weedy, Otherwise Fine
The course is clearly beyond its best days, but it's a good day for the price. Weeds on the tee boxes and fairways were disappointing but didn't affect play too much. Greens had just been sanded so putting was a challenge. I did feel like I needed to rake the green after holing out. Staff was terrific; all in all a great day.
The course was terrible for the price
First the lady was extremely rude in the front, had a terrible attitude so terrible service, then the course was in bad conditions. Cant tell the difference in fairways and rough, greens were very patchy, and the tee boxes were just dirt with occasional grass spots. Wouldn't recommend paying 50-90 dollars per person here.
Mehhhh….just ok.
It was ok to say I played it. Course is in serious need of some TLC. Actually loved the layout with some cool holes. Tee boxes and greens need help. There were no yardage markers in the fairway. Tee boxes just had sticks. “New golf carts” had wiring and space for gps system but it was missing in my cart.
Needs a lot of work
To change close to 100 for these conditions is ridiculous. Hardly any grass on tee boxes and most greens had weeds throughout. Overall not worth the money.. Sad because I really used to like this course.
Nice day on the course
Metro is set up as a professional course. You are greeted kindly at the bag drop off, helped to load your clubs, directed to the pro shop , and provided any other help as needed.
Tee times are managed well. Starters do a good job at getting you off at your time. Pace of play is acceptable. On course refreshments are available at a typical price. Bar tender in the clubhouse was wonderful.
The only slight drawback is the lack of onsite support if there are unruly players on the course, slowing play down or making their own course adjustments by cutting ahead of other groups when there is no openings ahead...
All in all , it was a great day on the course.
Very good cou6
Everything was good 👍 conditions, pace layout all made for a good day of golf
