Needs Some Maintenance
Overall I can only give this course a 3 star rating. The good - interesting course layout with healthy kikuyu grass fairways. The bad - the worst sand traps I have seen in a very long time. The sad part is that there does seem to be sand in the traps. All they need to do is to dig down about 2-3 inches and loosen up the existing sand.
Right now, there is about 1/4 inch of loose sand on top of rock hard wet sand. Also bad - the round took over 5 hours (5 hours 5 minutes to be exact). The ugly - greens with dozens of unrepaired ball marks. With a few upgrades this can be a 4-star course.
Busy
Overall not bad - nobody bothers fixing their pitch marks so greens are quite chewed up. Grainy greens and sticky collars - bump and runs are risky. 5 hour round on a Sunday is typical without course marshals. Some pretty dangerous areas for errant shots - be aware at all times.
Greens are nice, but….
Overall the course is pretty nice. Greens are really nice. They would be a lot better if golfers would repair divots. The tee boxes could be much better. They were not in the best condition. Overall, pretty nice.
Course condition
The golf course was in decent shape. Greens were a little slow but very pleased with condition and pace of play. We played it in about 4 1/2hrs and this is so nice that I would return again.
On the Golfnow, the price was listed as $39 and I’ve a reservation for this price.
But when we checked in, they charged us $60, which is very ridiculous.
And what they told us is that the price on the Golfnow is nothing to do with them.
They (either Golfnow or clubhouse) should not inform the different price to the other consumers.
Hope this is not going to happen again.
Great Layout with Awful Greens
This is such a fun layout! It’s a fairly short course made interesting with the green complexes and undulation.
The tee boxes are not as bad as some other reviewers say, but they do need a little work.
My only gripe is the greens. They were shaggy, and very clearly overwatered - I haven’t left craters like this in a long time!
My playing partner claimed they overwater the greens to help the seniors. If that is the case, please stop this practice. Your course is otherwise wonderful, please stop handicapping it. The seniors will get a feel for the pace eventually.
HILLY ESTATES.....
VERY HILLY COURSE. MOST GREENS ON A DOME.... SO YOUR SHORT GAME MUST BE ON
CHALLENING PAR 5s ARE INTER DISPERSED WITH MORE CHALLENING PAR 4s
OVERALL... I WILL LIKELY COME BACK AND GIVE IT A GO... NOW THAT I HAVE AN IDEA OF THE LAY OUT AND DIFFICULT AREAS
TEE TIMES
This is the 5th review I have written. The course if fine and the people are fine. The trouble getting a tee time thro
your web site is the problem. Why cannot you get a tee time 7 days in advance rather than 6 days is the problem. Look what other courses are doing. Get up to speed!! Get modern!! I am going to give you my phone number and bett you do not call me which means that nobody is reading this review..
Greatly improved!
Give credit when due. Fairways much improved recently. Greens aeration and overseed (Bermuda base greens) with bent grass grow in was great! Kudos to the Superintendent for overseeding greens with bent grass for an improved roll! Tees hopefully will get aeration next; still hard to get a tee in the ground! Love the subtle old school design! IMHO better design than Brookside or Griffith Park!
Interesting course
Enjoyed our round. Fairways were relatively wide and forgiving and ondulated landscape made this a special experience. Greens were a little slow which took some adjustment in play. Also they were relatively small and often dome shaped which made them an interesting challenge.
Great staff - terrible greens
Staff is always excellent! Course layout is fine enough but the greens are so terrible. They’re so hoppy and inconsistent. It’s a bummer, they’re greens used to be fast and rolly and now they’re 18 holes of Plinko.
Nice course. Good value
First time playing here.. very hilly course. Greens are on pseudo-domes and are not easy to handle.
Not the hardest but not easy either. Will play here again
