Santa Anita Golf Course

This is such a fun layout! It’s a fairly short course made interesting with the green complexes and undulation.

The tee boxes are not as bad as some other reviewers say, but they do need a little work.

My only gripe is the greens. They were shaggy, and very clearly overwatered - I haven’t left craters like this in a long time!

My playing partner claimed they overwater the greens to help the seniors. If that is the case, please stop this practice. Your course is otherwise wonderful, please stop handicapping it. The seniors will get a feel for the pace eventually.

your web site is the problem. Why cannot you get a tee time 7 days in advance rather than 6 days is the problem. Look what other courses are doing. Get up to speed!! Get modern!! I am going to give you my phone number and bett you do not call me which means that nobody is reading this review..

Give credit when due. Fairways much improved recently. Greens aeration and overseed (Bermuda base greens) with bent grass grow in was great! Kudos to the Superintendent for overseeding greens with bent grass for an improved roll! Tees hopefully will get aeration next; still hard to get a tee in the ground! Love the subtle old school design! IMHO better design than Brookside or Griffith Park!

Enjoyed our round. Fairways were relatively wide and forgiving and ondulated landscape made this a special experience. Greens were a little slow which took some adjustment in play. Also they were relatively small and often dome shaped which made them an interesting challenge.

Staff is always excellent! Course layout is fine enough but the greens are so terrible. They’re so hoppy and inconsistent. It’s a bummer, they’re greens used to be fast and rolly and now they’re 18 holes of Plinko.

First time playing here.. very hilly course. Greens are on pseudo-domes and are not easy to handle.

Not the hardest but not easy either. Will play here again

2nd time I've booked with golf now and my tee times were earlier than I booked please fix this nothing worse than arriving on time only to be told your time was earlier than you booked and I can't get you out today.

Basic park style course like others around LA/OC

*Greens are probably the worst I’ve ever played on. They are mud with 1/32” thick “grass”. I was confused on how they could be that slow and bumpy.

Greens are a solid 2 on a scale of 1-10. Slow, bumpy, muddy, garbage.

Course is decent otherwise. Decent course for the price. Except the greens.

Very good old style design but it has just never been given the up-keep it deserves. Couldn’t get a tee in the ground on #2. Let’s get the aerator out please; just basic agronomic practices requested.

The tubs of sand to fill divots are filled with food & drink containers, banana peels and cigarette butts. Signs needed to direct trash to the appropriate containers.

Great golfing experience at one of my favorite courses! I highly recommend this course to anyone that enjoys this great sport!
