Played this in March
Greens were in great shape and the rest of the course has not grown in yet, which is to be expected but a very nice layout. Watch out for hole#8 as all of groups GPS yardage finders were off by 60-100 yards with approach shots.
Great golf course
A great experience. Very good conditions and facilities. Excelent greens. I recommend it.
Don't get the hype
This is my second time playing this course and honestly, I fail to understand the hype behind it. Both times I have been underwhelmed by it. The $80 price tag is way too high. The overall conditions of the course were okay at best. Many tee boxes were chewed with sandy patches scattered throughout. I understand it's still early in the season, but I'd expect much better considering the steep price tag. I will say the greens are solid. They definitely roll true.
In addition to the above, the overall layout of the course is just not that good. Zero memorable holes. Many of which take you through an industrial park with views of large office buildings. That really takes away from a golf course to me.
Overall, I find everything about this course to be average. There's just no value to the whole experience. To call it the best public golf course in the Charlotte area is a joke to me. It's not a bad course by any means and it's worth checking out. I just wouldn't get my hopes up for anything special.
Great layout. Great winter conditions.
The course was in great shape for the winter. Greens were great. Fairways lacked grass which resulted in very tight lies. A couple bunkers had cloth under the sand which complicated shots. For February, an awesome day of golf. One of the more expensive courses, but with GolfNow Hot Deals, a cost effective way to play a great track in a cost effective manner.
Graet Cousre
Enjoyed our time out at Ballentyne cold day but no wind Course in great shape
Nicest course in the area
Extremely challenging course, meticulously taken care of, would love to play it again.,
Golf Club of Ballantyne
Love, love, this course. Beautiful condition and obvious that they take great care of the course. Highly recommend it.
Very nice golf course
Played this golf while in town for the weekend and is the nicest course that I have played in the Charlotte area. While not a cheap price golf course or a fun course for high handicap golfers with their fast greens. But the course was still in great shape and is a great test of any golfers game.
The course has tremendous features.
The course is very challenging and the greens are fast but it is a great course. The play was very slow.
RESORT STYLE
Excellent experience and difficult course due to slopped fairways and large, tiered greens
Greens are treacherous!
Course is in excellent condition. The greens are very good, but difficult, especially when above the hole.
Great round
Very busy course . Staff was extremely friendly. Would definetly playbthere again if I was on the Charlotte area.
Very nice, all around-literally !
Conditions from tee to green where very nice, exceptionally nice. That is to say-tee boxes level and aimed correctly, fairway and green side bunkers are fair- in that they were raked and moderate sand (not powder or hard packed), fairways were large tree lined and some were pretty narrow, miss the fairway or greens slightly and you better feel comfortable with first being able to find your ball and secondly being able to hit out of grass that gobbles up your ball. Greens run true but are filled with undulations and pretty darn fast. Being able to leave the ball on the correct side of the hole will be a great asset. I also think the course is pretty as well. Just enough water/ flowers/trees and geese to capture your attention. If you are a high handicapper, you WILL struggle-ALOT !
Best Public course in Charlotte
Great course, in excellent condition. I believe it is the best course Charlotte ahs to offer, if you have a chance to play it don't pass it up!
It was great and the greens were beautiful
I would come back here for sure. The greens were great even though it was hot and very humid we had a lovely day!!
Will be back again...
I really liked this course. Booked for $60 on golf now, paired with a father-son duo at 9:40 monday morning. Course was pretty, and very well maintained: beautiful tee to green. Not very long even from the tips, but guarded well by long, thick rough and very quick greens. I dont know what a regular round costs, but $60 felt like a bargain for a resort quality round, even after a months worth of 3-putts.
Great course, Great value
The course was in very good condition. 2 years prior I thought I was never going to play here again. The condition of the course was poor and I had a late am tee time. Very slow play at that time. I would suggest a very early tee time. It makes a difference and the course was very good especially given the recent 100 degree temps and lack of rain.
Love this Course
Excellent golf course that was in great shape and fun to play. The fairways were in excellent condition and the greens were fast and true. The layout was challenging but fair. We played 36 holes on one day and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very good, with player assistants out on the course to make sure your round was moving along.
If I am back in the Charlotte area again, I will play this course. We found it by looking on the internet for the top public courses in the area and I can see why this course was listed at the top of the list.
Slowest Round Ever
I was planning for a slow round since it was the weekend but never in my wildest dream did I expect to play 7 holes in 2 hours and 40 min. The 3 guys that I played with left after 5 holes so I joined a two some and then I quick after 7, they also quit after me. I was chocked that there were no rangers to be found. For such a nice resort course this has made me never want to play there again. In fact this is the reason why people are leaving the game of golf.
Terrible condition, nice course design
The course was in very poor condition in terms of greens and tee boxes. Course layout and design is very nice, but for an $80 mid day round in July, it should be pristine...unfortunately, it was not.
