one of the area's best courses
Pristine ,challenging ,and beautiful ,if it wouldn't be that expensive to play it at regular rates I'd play it a lot more, thanks golfnow.com ,overall this course it's a must.
Is this a public course?
Despite torrential rains in recent days, the track was in great shape. Lush and challenging. Picturesque. My 1st time, but won't be my last.
Better than the average CLT course
Pretty good track for the money, fairways were in good shape and greens were rolling true, and a little quicker than most in Charlotte.
Course has a nice lay out of holes some blind shots
I played with my wife on Sunday and was not pushed at all. Did not have to wait at all. Some holes do have some difficulty due to the slopes and blind tee shots. Will play there again actually played there twice last week. They have a couple nice water holes and some tough par 3s.
Enjoy
Best in South Charlotte
Great course overall. Winter course conditions but looking like the course will be in outstanding condition in 2 or 3 weeks with some spring weather sticking around for a bit. Pin placement on Sunday was outrageous but still had a lot of fun. Great food and a cigar at the turn. Note to self: don't try and get out Masters sunday morning and expect no one else to have the same exact idea. Slow 5hr round. Usually not like that though.
You can tell this course can be great
Playing on April 9th, I figured the course would be in a little better shape. Some of the traps had so little sand that the bedding was visible. The greens were fast, but extremely bumpy. It seems like they haven't been cut or rolled in weeks. The only part of the course that was "green", were the greens. Almost every pin was either cut 5 feet from the fringe, or a foot to one side of a huge ridge. That made absolutely no sense. The layout was excellent. I will definitely be back in a few weeks because you can tell this course has tremendous potential.
Fair course with tough table top greens
We had a great time on this course , because we got paired with a nice couple. The course is fair for women , able to make greens in regulation, but oh the putts! Fast and tricky . We enjoyed our day and must go back for hole # 4 for revenge
Great course in an urban setting.
I played this course in the winter so the fairways were a little beat down. They did appear to be well kept so I intend to go back in the summer and play again. I got over 50% off of the regular green fees through GolfNow so it was a good day for the money. The greens were some of the best I've ever seen in winter. I can't wait to see then in the green seasons. The course had plenty of hazards but, the hardest for me was the multiple bunkers guarding almost every green. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you live near Charlotte, NC this course is a must play.
great undulation on the greens
great layout, tough greens with lots of undulation.
one of the best public courses in Charlotte
Challenging but fair golf course. Lightning fast well maintained greens. Great service and practice facility.
Great Conditioned Course
I played The Golf Club at Ballantyne as a single. I was first off on a cool, foggy Friday morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. The course itself is great. The greens were immaculate and pretty speedy even though there had been a lot of recent rain. The course is challenging with lots of elevation changes and undulating greens. I will definitely come back to play this course in the summer once it is green and lush again.
Amazing fast greens.
I love fast greens. Everything was in amazing condition.
Where was the ranger?!
I played in a foursome on Saturday, Feb 9th. We teed around 1:30 and were behind an outing. The pace of play on the course was unacceptable. The group in front of us appeared to have near-novice players who were playing from the tips. Their drives in some instances were barely reaching the women's tees. One gentleman in the group was allowed on the course with blue jeans and a sweatshirt. They were the last group of their outing but quickly fell behind, largely because they could not keep pace of play. We questioned immediately where the ranger was to inform them that they needed to pick it up and offer tips on how to speed it up. It clogged up the course behind them all afternoon. The front nine took almost 3 hours and 5+ for 18. The rangers were all over the place on the range, but not once did we see them on the course. There were groups that most certainly could have finished their rounds had this been managed properly, but probably got 12 ro 15 in. Poor value. For a course that normally charges $80 and is part of a resort, this type of service is unacceptable. Your money is better spent at another course where you could play two rounds for the same amount of money and probably get your full round in.
Fast greens made the course very challenging.
This was a great bargain for $30 per round off GolfNow. The course was in great shape and the pace wasn't too bad for a Sunday during the holidays. The only negative was "cart path only"
because the course is very hilly.
Challenging pristine course
This was outr 1st time playing this course, we found it challenging in many directions, and very interesting, the staff keep the course in Outstanding condition, and everything is thought of in advance, with SUPER Customer consideration and friendliness
Greens were great and fast.
Course was in good shape and greens well maintained and ran fast. Pin placements were tough as placed on slopes on most holes.
Fun, Challenging an well worth the money.
Great course! All around 3 par 5s and 3 par 3s on the back side is really unique. Greens are fast and responsive never any dead spots. In the summer they have a guy handing out cold towels. Can't beat this course, and the range is top notch.
Grean greens
We had a two-some and played in under 3 1/2 hours on a Friday afternoon. Greens were outstanding. Tees were good but some holes were missing blue tees. Would recommend if you can get for discount but not worth paying full price. Would recommend BG over any other public course in area including Springfield and Carolina Lakes.
Greens are nice an fast
I enjoyed playing here.. The course was on great shape considering the time of year.. It was convenient and the price I got my round for... Was awesome! Definitely would recommend this course for you to play..
Greens are super fast & none are flat
Awesome course, too much noise from cars on road next to course
