Sunset Hills Golf Course - Old Course

We started off at the driving range where we had a foretaste of what the rest of the 18 holes would be like. We discovered that rather than using grass this course decided to use sand at their driving range. Furthermore, despite our horrendous experience at the driving range we started playing this course with an open mind. However we then proceeded to discover that the greens were tiny with illegal pin placements as well as there no grass being present at the tee boxes. I would not recommend this course to anyone. Thank you.

A friend and I played for the first time Friday morning. For this time of the year the course was exceptional. Great pace of play and a very friendly staff! Would definitely recommend playing here.

The course was great it is under continued maintenance but absolutely playable and you cannot beat the value for a challenging but very fun course.

I played on a Friday and was able to go out alone for a very relaxing round. Turned out to be the best I’ve ever played! The course is relatively flat but still very fun.

I’ve played this course 3-4 times as an intermediate golfer, and I cannot stress how bad this course is. Most of the tee boxes are not flat and are rock hard. The fairways are fine but all that separates each hole is a cart path, so you’re constantly waiting for someone to come hit their ball back into the correct fairway. The greens…dear god - they’re unbelievably small, and when you get to hole 18 it slopes downhill so hard that if you miss your putt by even a inch, your ball is rolling off the green every single time.

That being said, the staff is great. Very kind and helpful group of guys. But this course is not even worth the $40 tee time.

I’ve played Sunset Hills a few times and now taking my 12-year-old son to learn to play. The course is well laid out with minimal obstructions. It is well-maintained and the staff was very friendly. The value for the money can’t be beat.

Loved how casual this course is! My wife has been playing golf for about a year and too many courses are pretentious and stuffy. We played a slow front nine because of the foursome in front of us but the back nine was brisk and a lovely layout. Will definitely play again!

Conditions were good, pace of play was 2 hrs for 9 on a Sat afternoon. Not long or overly difficult but fun at a decent value.

Guys in the clubhouse and the starter were incredibly nice and helpful. As for the course, fairways had a lot of dead spots and were just barren in some spots. Greens were loooooong and coupled with the early morning dew, it was like putting on shag carpet. Greens were way overdue for a cut. Layout was ok. You can drive the green on about all the par 4’s if you are a long hitter. Even if you’re not, you’re still chipping on your 2nd shot. I would play again just based off the price.
