Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Beautiful layout but…

This course is by far my favorite layout in the area and used to always be in great shape. What happened to the greens? I understand it’s hard in the golf business but to be charging premium rates $58 at 3:40 in the afternoon is unacceptable.

Greens needed help

It was a wonderful day for golf.

Tea boxes were in great shape, the fairways and the rough were in beautiful and great shape however the greens were extremely bumpy they just recently been painted green with fertilizer, they were so rough my playing partners refer to him as old afro turf.

I know the greens are just temporary and the poor condition that they were in, really looking forward to going back to the course in a couple weeks to play again.

Not the Neuse I remember

Long story short the greens suck. Not sure what happened, but I won't consider playing there for months minimally

Greens are Sketchy

Neuse is my favorite course in the RTP area. Great, fun, fair layout. The greens had been top dressed, which was no sweat to me, but I noticed many of the greens were extremely bare of grass.....I don't know what the reason is but it was disappointing. Six weeks ago, the greens were in excellent condition.

Neuse could stand adding some more sand to their bunkers.....the few I found were very thin on sand.

Fairways/rough were in great condition. Won't be going back for another 6 weeks.

Came for the wicked fast greens

Great course all around. They aerated the greens a few weeks before so the greens were still sandy/patchy spots. I wish they told us at the pro shop but they were still wicked fast and the rest of the course was in good conditions. 4 hour round with less than 10 mins of waiting on others. Will be back again fasho

The Neuse

I love the course, the issue with the round was a group ahead were extremely slow and at times held up two groups behind them.. Perhaps a marshall would have been helpful to move things along at a more reasonable pace of play.

Great Course Overall

Favorite part was the course design. A bit tough on the longer tees with such a high slope but the challenges are fun. Its more about layout and design challenges rather than bunkers and rivers. For being in a neighborhood you completely forget the houses are even there. Very open and wide built. Even with the challenge I had my best round of my life score wise here

Fun course love the par 3 14th

Played in the winter so of course the great Winter roll. Greens were in decent shape also for Winter play. Staff at the counter and behind the bar were excellent. Definitely planning on coming back in the Spring and Summer.
