About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Beautiful course and well manicured. Challenging, however, not overwhelming. A wonderful gem hidden away in Clayton, NC.

Goofy back nine
Some of the back nine holes were a strange layout,especially the par threes.

South Dakota meets North Carolina
First and foremost this course is very well kept and is incredibly challenging. Golfing this course made me think and take shots I wouldn’t normally take. The greens had just been sanded but I know that’s a necessary thing to do to keep them in the condition they need to be in for golfers to enjoy them. I was welcomed in by Jason, a course member, to golf with him. He was a great guy, definitely a help on the course but also shows outsiders what kind of course this is by members being friendly to non-members. The fairways were like hitting off a hitting mat, they were incredible. For the money I paid this was a great course. I’d golf it again, and will if I’m ever in the area again. I’d even pay double to golf it again. Great course!

Review of The Neuse Golf Club
I really like the Neuse. I played this course yesterday (Tuesday afternoon) in just a little over three hours – there was almost no one out there. The fairways are very nice – the ball sits up nice and high - and the Bermuda greens were rolling true. I don’t know about weekends, but my weekday experiences have all been very good.

One of my fav courses in the Triangle
Last minute tee time playing by myself, completed 18 in 2 hours after passing one double. Greens were a little sandy but didn’t affect the speed or pace.

Best round this year
First time playing this course, it was in fantastic shape. Beautiful fairways, smooth true greens, attentive bar staff. I played the best I played all year in terms of shot making. The back is definitely more challenging…almost like the architect ran out of real estate but not in a bad way. Well worth the trip and money.

WEDDING CRASHERS!!!
We were in Raleigh for a wedding and found Neuse. What a GREAT track!!! Can't walk it, but the ride was wonderful. Par 3's are challenging and the greens were quick. Played in under 4 hours.

Love this course
This is an excellent course. The greens roll well and the fairways are well manicured. It is a long and difficult course but great for all levels golfers. I am 22 handicap and I played well!
