They were aerating the front nine the back nine was soggy and half the holes were cartpath. Only roughs were very long and hard to get out of.

We’re only cart path only on par 4’s (3 of them)

The fairways were some parts soft and muddy.

Possible too much watering for the week.

When a round is $83 and the conditions were this bad,

It’s not worth that much for a quality course that

It’s been known for. I might not go there to play until their conditions improve.

I have been playing The Ridge since high school so for the past 20 years or so and have always loved this golf course. I just played it again for the first time in a few years and it was great however…. Due to the fact that it is unseasonably hot and was 102 when we played, the course was extremely over watered.. I mean SOPPING WET. Granted, they are trying to keep the grass alive due to the excessive heat but the course was absolutely soaked. Due to this, it played extremely long. On holes I normally hit driver and 8 or 9 iron, I was hitting driver and 4 iron. I carry the ball about 270 and I run up to about 290-300 but every drive plugged in the fairway or it hit and spun back a couple feet. You don’t need to water it that much at once. Spread it out and do smaller amounts 2-3 times a day but not all at once. I won’t go back during the summer if they do this again, you cannot chip correctly or you chunk it, you have to hit it hard to ensure relatively decent contact and then you ore off the other side or 30 feet from the hole. Please, don’t water this course like that moving forward! Grass is supposed to die off a little in summer, saturating it will just make it worse as average golfers will hack up that wet grass and make it even worse. Let it dry out a little!

The tee boxes are pretty torn up from heavy play, and the fairways are pretty thin on grass where they have ripped furrows down the middle and planted new seed. I expect it will be a month or more before the course is in really good shape with all the reseeding. Definitely not worth the $80+ greens fees in the current state.

I've played this course dozens of times, and it's always a pleasure. The greens are fast and undulating, requiring a precise touch and accurate iron play to leave yourself uphill putts.

Currently, they are doing maintenance on a lot of fairways and tee boxes, so the course isn't in its normal pristine condition. Regardless, the course is still eminently playable, and I forgive any course that puts in the time and money to keep the course it the best condition it can.

Recent hot weather did a number on the fairways and some of the greens. Group ahead was extremely slow and not following shot ready golf. Group behind kept hitting into us. Do you not have Marshalls on this course?

Fairways were not in good shape like I remember them.

Bunkers didn’t have sand, just damp dirt.

Greens were great, fast and unforgiving.

Tee boxes were below average as well.

Still the toughest course around Sacramento and surrounding areas and one of my favorites.

The pace of play was bad and there was no one monitoring the rounds. The fairways were very spotty.

The course is a nice layout. The greens are more undulated than they need to be in my opinion. The course was in rough shape, but I know it's late summer, but I still think it good have been in nicer shape. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Nice layout greens very challenging multiple groups on every hole. Be prepared for a long day..
