About
Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem". The course is located at the confluence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lockwood Folly River, providing golfers with breathtaking vistas of tidal estuary, moss covered hard- woods and the solitude of nature. Tree lined, nonparallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pine afford a sense of seclusion while challanged with championship golf.

Golfer Reviews
Lots of bare spots
The fairways had a lot of bare patches and where fairly rough in places. The greens where largely the same. Very thing grass covering along with being pretty sandy and crusty. It was very hard to keep a ball on line.
Great at a hot deal price
Greens currently need help but they're probably about to aerify like other courses in the area so it's understandable. Layout has juat enough direction changes qith water in play on moat holes.
Great staff.
I played as a single and on hole 4 came upon a 4 some qhom were waiting behind another foursome. I skipped hole 5 and there was no one in front of me. Finished 18 holes in 1 hour 48 minutes.
Uneventful and inscenic until hole 18 where you end at a marsh view. A couple areas of a good lake view but not really astounding.
Ranger Wanted
Course is in nice shape overall. Greens are smooth - not too fast. Only issue was the pace of play- played single behind a threesome that was super slow. Poor etiquette on their part for not letting me pay through.
Clubhouse under renovation?
Maybe my favorite
I know it’s out of the way, but worth it. The course is in great shape. The greens are quick, but fair. I’m most impressed by the water hazards. There are many, and they come into play to challenge you. The design of the course lets a long hitter or high handicapper clear the water with a good shot or get a penalty, as it should be. Take your time and enjoy this beautifully designed course.
My favorite golf course.
Don’t pass up a chance to play this exceptional golf course. For the first time golfer or low handicap player, this course will challenge you and reward you. The hazards, in particular the water hazards, are real, not just nice looking scenery. The greens are in great condition. I played during a light rain, so can’t comment on the sand traps. Come when you have time to enjoy an exceptional day of golf. It’s worth the greens fee.
Had fun
Greens need work. Loved the course went threw neighborhood and didn’t return to clubhouse til the end.
Great layout, good condition
Very nice layout with challenging holes but fair. Some beautiful scenery on the river. The conditions were good considering that it’s been a tough spring for most of the courses.
Good location near the beach
Confusing start to our round, with clubhouse check-in noting we (2 players) were on our own, which we preferred. Then, when headed to the starting area, starter had us paired with two other players. Starter also noted that the course does not circle back to clubhouse after nine, so we should get food/drink if we'd like before we started (we had time). Unfortunately, the food service was poor (took a long time!), our orders were not correct when food received and staff was not friendly. Explained this to starter, and he was fantastic to work us back in and was super friendly. Course pace was very slow the front 9, but improved the back nine. Greens were difficult and fairways were in average condition. We enjoyed our day, despite the hiccups, and the course was close to our beach rental. However, if we return to the area, would probably select a different course.
Worth playing
This course has been up and down last few years. Fairways a bit thin but you can find a lay playing winter rules. Greens have improved since they were redone a few years ago. Occasionally silly pin placements make some putts impossible. Practice facilities are good and staff is always helpful. It’s off the usual golf destination but it is worth a ride especially on a nice calm day. Some views are fantastic .
Fairways Need Lots of Work
Greens are better than most courses around. The fairways were brutal they all need tons of work. They need a Marshall on the course front nine was good The back nine was over an hour longer than the front
Local knowledge or guide book required
It is an interesting layout with multiple left doglegs and multiple water areas that can be reached off the tee box. Planning each shot is needed , with lots of sand in areas opposite water hazards.
If you hit it where you want, it's a fun course with fast but true greens.
