Lockwood Folly Country Club
About
Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem". The course is located at the confluence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lockwood Folly River, providing golfers with breathtaking vistas of tidal estuary, moss covered hard- woods and the solitude of nature. Tree lined, nonparallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pine afford a sense of seclusion while challanged with championship golf.

Challenging but fun!
Lots of sneaky water features kept this course challenging all the way through. Greens were in great shape, fairways are still coming out of winter but definitely playable. Sand traps aplenty, well kept and soft. Played terribly but managed a birdie on 15! Would recommend for the $50-ish price from golf now.
Unexpected Pleasure
Played last summer and found the course difficult and wanting. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention then, but this second round was a completely different experience! Tees and greens were plush (greens rolled really well and true), many trees had been cleared and the clubhouse was strikingly refreshed. We had a great lunch afterwards and my playing partner, a 4ish handicap, was impressed. After this round I’ll definitely be back!
Fairways need more grass
Played on a cooler afternoon a day after some rain. The greens and tee boxes were good but the fairways were devoid of grass. Many shots were played off of hardpan or mud. Because the fairways were so poor the ball ran forever and often into ponds, trees and bunkers. Bunkers were OK after the previous days rain.
The starter and pro shop staff were very friendly and helpful. There was no beverage cart and no refreshment after nine holes as the course does not cycle back to the clubhouse. Speed of play was average.
I would wait until better growing conditions emerge to play here again.
Disappointed
The fairways had almost no grass. Played 8 different courses in the last six weeks and these were the worst condition fairways by far. The greens were in decent shape. As a minor note. They don't allow you to take the carts into the parking lot. I've never seen that before here. Be prepared to lug your clubs around.
greens rolled nice. fairways a little thin.
enjoyed this course. played with 2 women who were very talented. would have preferred more seeding on fairways but overall very enjoyable experience. last 4 holes a fairly heavy fog rolled in adding to the unique experience. saw 2 small gators one blue bird and multiple Grey and black squirrels.
temp 55 clear sky. course was nice. greens were slow understandable for the time of year..
Winter Golf
Enjoy the layout, although a bit too many water hazards that come into play. Fairways had a lot of bare spots in them due to no over seeding. Greens seem to be in pretty good shape although they were somewhat slow. Moved around quickly as there were not a lot of players in the afternoon.
Greenskeeper is a sadist
The pin positions when I played were nightmare fuel, a double putt felt like a birdie. Very challenging course design, lots of fun. Well maintained and great conditions!
Great staff and good layout
The staff at the course were super friendly and helpful. I really enjoy the layout and course was in good condition.
