About
Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem". The course is located at the confluence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lockwood Folly River, providing golfers with breathtaking vistas of tidal estuary, moss covered hard- woods and the solitude of nature. Tree lined, nonparallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pine afford a sense of seclusion while challanged with championship golf.

Golfer Reviews
Solid course, slow play
I’ve been meaning to play this course for a while and I’m glad I did. Great conditioning and greens rolled nice. I really liked the design and played well. Only issue is some of the black tee boxes were not level. We got stuck behind a slow foursome and barley made it in before darkness. Didn’t see a ranger. It took us about 4:45 to finish. Other than that it was a good day.
Best Condition in Years
We’ve been playing Lockwood Folly for years (35). The fairways and greens were in the best condition we’ve seen in a long, long time. Staff was super friendly. Cart guy, woman in pro shop! Both very nice. The cart paths have not been maintained which they might want to look at but I’d rather have the course in good condition than the cart paths.
Enjoyable round
The people working here were nice and attentive. Course was in nice shape. We got behind a foursome that really slowed our play. Ended skipping a hole because they didn’t seem interested in letting us play through. Other than that it was a nice round of ⛳️
Too much $$$!!!
Too much for the round. Pace was really slow 5hr for loop!! Course needs some updates. Lower the rate to $45, that’s justified… For $57 on hot deal reg rate is in the high $60s
Good value
Good value. Lots of water hazards. Pace of play was slow the day i played.
Golf later
I have played Lockwood for a number of years but I have never experienced such a slow pace of play.
4 groups ahead of me was a geriatric 5 some. It actually was a 6 some but I think one of them was walking so slowly that he remained in the cart. The combined age of the players probably would put them before the birth of Christ. 3 of the groups behind them quit before the back nine. They were oblivious to their slow play and the frustrations that they caused. The course employees did not seem to care as several passed by in cart. Thus it was not golf now but golf much later.
Great time great course
Course was in great shape overall. Played as a single during the week and felt like I was by myself out there. (7:40am Wed Tee time). Even had a scramble tournament that started at 8am and I never ran into them nor them into me.
Greens were fast and but consistent. Only one or two looked like it had some rough patches.
Overall I had a great time. The staff was friendly and really made you feel like a member.
Course Conditions and Amenities
Tee boxes and fairways varied greatly by hole with a lot of bare spots. Greens were in good shape. Pace of play was slow and no ranger to maintain proper pace. Cart paths are terrible and there were several water coolers but only one had water and the several water fountains at the bathroom locations had no refrigeration which is not acceptable when 94 degrees! Beverage cart came around once in the entire round. Better courses and amenities at other locations near by and less than $78.00 to play. Impression is they don’t have the money to keep up the course like it used to be maintained.
Always in good shape
Play here a couple times a year when I'm on vacation. Never disapoints.Wide fairways, great layout.
Pleasantly surprised.
Played here about 25 years ago. Much nicer than I remembered. Would play again.
Overall good experience.
Fairways were excellent, greens were very good, and sand traps were perfect, but rough was average. Some hazards were hard to see from the tees, especially playing the course the first time..
A little overpriced but still fun
The fairways had been aerated. If they were in better shape I would have rated slightly higher. I also expected to see water a lot more than only on the back of 18 green. At $40 it would be a good deal but $70 is a little steep for what you get. Still if you’re in the area it’s not a terrible choice.
