Lockwood Folly Country Club

This course has been up and down last few years. Fairways a bit thin but you can find a lay playing winter rules. Greens have improved since they were redone a few years ago. Occasionally silly pin placements make some putts impossible. Practice facilities are good and staff is always helpful. It’s off the usual golf destination but it is worth a ride especially on a nice calm day. Some views are fantastic .

Greens are better than most courses around. The fairways were brutal they all need tons of work. They need a Marshall on the course front nine was good The back nine was over an hour longer than the front

It is an interesting layout with multiple left doglegs and multiple water areas that can be reached off the tee box. Planning each shot is needed , with lots of sand in areas opposite water hazards.

If you hit it where you want, it's a fun course with fast but true greens.

Pace of Play could be faster, fairways not in good condition.

Would recommend this course if the fairways are in better shape.

I have played Lockwood many times over 25 years. Overall worst shape I have experienced. The greens were nice but the fairways had no grass on them. Bunkers had no sand. Many other areas were unplayable. Pace of play was terrible as well. Waited every shot. Did not see a ranger on the course. Will not play there again anytime soon.

Some challenging holes. Overall, fare. we had a good time, as always.

I looked at the reviews before booking this course and not sure what people were talking about. The fairways were in terrible shape so we quit after 9 holes. It appeared that they had aerated the first fairway but after that, not sure. But no grass and no good lies whatsoever. I liked the layout of the first nine holes and the greens were in pretty good shape except for few weeds, but given the condition of the fairways, they should be giving away rounds for free.
