About
Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem". The course is located at the confluence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lockwood Folly River, providing golfers with breathtaking vistas of tidal estuary, moss covered hard- woods and the solitude of nature. Tree lined, nonparallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pine afford a sense of seclusion while challanged with championship golf.

Golfer Reviews
So so
This is a $50 golf course. Fairways ok, but major poanna on periphery. Greens were iffy as per previous reviews. I kinda liked the layout. Front nine took over 2.5 hours to play, but all the locals quit after 9 holes and we played the back in 1.5 hours. Doubt I come back. Not terrible, just not great.
Holden Beach Visitor
This is the closest course to Holden Beach. Staff is very nice and course is in OK condition but greens were in less than desirable condition overall. Many had threadbare spots and they were recently aerated. I wasn't told beforehand. Pro Shop also pretty much devoid of merchandise.
Greens are Deplorable
Greens were in n horrible condition. One even had a mole track all the way across it. Was planning to have a drink after our round but at 5:00 the grill and bar were already closed
Disappointing again
I checked a week prior to playing and the greens were fine. We played a week later and they were plugged and sanded making putting impossible, which made the day disappointing. The layout is nice, fairways were ok, but as I said greens a problem. We need to always check as this plugging has happened before
Fantastic All The Way Around!!
Staff was Excellent and The Conditions Were Very Player Friendly. Wildlife Views were Abundant and Very Cool as Well as The Inlet Views...Must Play Course!
Lockwood folly played last week of April
Booked a twosome on Saturday morning at 9:30 and we were paired up with another twosome. The pace of play was quite good and as always, the people we were paired up with were quite nice.
Some of the common areas adjacent the tee boxes in fairways could use some attention, but other than that it was a great day for golf.
Lockwood folly
Greens had just been aerated but no one or the website advised of this. There were spots on several fairways that had dirt patches.
Beautiful
Looks like a simple layout , but it is challenging and requires the use of different clubs. Plenty of warning signs to adhere to. Only saw one alligator. More of view for my spouse, ladies tee was in-front of the water.
Just a great course to play. Definitely would play again.
Enjoyable round
The course was in good shape overall but a few greens are a little thin in spots. Hopefully. that will clear up with the warmer weather. It must be a course that many like because the tee times were 3/4 players until 3:00 or so. We will definitely be back again.
Upkeep
Full of leaves in the fairways, and sand traps greens are Slow as molasses.interesting layout
Disapointing
The greens were not in good condition at all. The cart path would need repairs in several places. However,, the bunkers were in excellent condition.
