About
Designed by Clyde Johnston and popular PGA Tour star Fuzzy Zoeller, the Island West Golf Club is a course built around natural marshland and follows the landscape presenting a rolling, tree-lined course.
As one would imagine a course with Zoeller's fingerprints, Island West in Bluffton was built to be a fun, entertaining play, and has succeeded in its mission. Playing to 6,803 with a 129 slope rating from the tips, it's a solid test for the skillful yet playable for the not-so skillful.
Water comes in to play on 10 holes here, so the bold will have many risk-reward opportunities. Accuracy off the tee is a must on many of the tree-lined holes, yet other holes feature wide fairways. Island West is exactly the type of course you'd imagine Zoeller being a part of, but Johnston's expertise also shines through.

Just punched greens 2 weeks prior.
Still greens were fair, however tee boxes and fairways where excellent.
Stall members were exceptional!
Very accommodating.
Greens much improved
Fairways very good overall and greens much improved since early spring.
Aerated Gtrens
Didn't look like the sand was even dispersed on the all the greens. Not bad for the price though.
Nice course, great value
Course is in very good condition, excellent greens. The card nor the tee markers have layouts so if you aren't familiar with the course, there are some blind shots exposed to water hazards that can be tricky. Overall, love playing here.
Course in real good shape
Been a while from our last time there over a year.Course is much better, Your ground crew is doing a nice job.
Course was in great shape
The course was in great shape. It was not busy so the pace of play was great. Staff is frendly. This is not the first time we have played here and it will not be the last.
Course was in good condition
1st course of the season - course was in good condition. The weather was awesome. Pace of play was good.
Interesting
The course has a nice layout. Our round would have been more enjoyable if the "cart path only" rule wasn't in effect.
Rained On
We got rained on for the last few holes but made it through, The course was in good condition. Starter not overly friendly or letting us know we could go. Its good course at a reasonable price.
Much too wet
sign on the frontage road said great conditions. truth would have been, Really really wet. No driving range due to being to wet. course design is nice and could be really good
Just after heavy wind & rain
Although course was cart path only due to previous day's storm it was in very playable condition. Fairways best in area.
wet conditions
Lots of rain and heavy winds the day before, not courses fault but greens were really slow. Pace of play was 5 hours but we had a good time. Nice course layout but no bevererage cart or Ranger. great value and fun day .

Good track for the money
This is part of the Brown Group. We enjoyed the course. Overall it was in nice shape. The fairways were in good shape, and the greens, while a little slow were in good shape as well. I would say that Eagle Point and Crescent Point were the best of the three, but this was a nice course as well. Certainly could not beat it for the money.
Good value
The course needs some work, cart paths getting worn out and overall condition of course is average at best. But a great value and fun round. Able to play quickly and pro shop had great sale in progress.
Island West Review
We played as a foursome. Two couples. We are average golfers and the pace of play was fine. The course is in better condition than last year.
perfect for twosomes
Played with my wife. Found there to be many twosomes. Which seemed to keep play slow. Enjoyed the course after adapting to thick apron without bounce. Greens quite firm but true.
Fun course
This is an enjoyable course for players of all levels. Women get a good break from the red tees, which is not always the case. Pretty good shape. Very firm greens.
