Rose Hill Golf Club

I first played this course about 4 years ago. At that time the course condition was pathetic. I wrote a terrible review.

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday. The course gets a lot of play but considering the time of year it was great. The greens were dormant but OMG fast. You could see that the tee boxes were overseeded. All the bunkers had fluffy sand. They are maintaining this course now.

The front nine is beautiful with the water oaks and spainish moss. A real visual treat. The back nine is more challenging.

I look forward to playing there again soon.

Course was ok for me, I am not too fussy.

I would not recommend to my snobbier golf friends.

The front nine was cart path only due to wet ground; however, the back none was 90 degree on the fairways. It made for lots of walking & slower play on the front it was able to make up for it on the back!

Challenging layout with lots of water, Didn't get a true feel for the course, however, due to heavy rains for several days before our round. A lot of standing water in the fairways and ponds in the bunkers. Would like to play again with better conditions.

Challenging course. Stay on the fairway or you'll have a tough scramble. Staff was pleasant and course was enjoyable to play..

The course is well taken care of by the maintenance staff. The sand is good quality and consistent throughout the course. The greens held and rolled well. I was not a fan of the layout. The holes were short even from the back tees and there wasn’t much personality other than a couple holes like number 10. Many of the holes border the 6 lane road and we’re noisy, while the holes that were back on the property seem to all be similar as they run parallel to each other.

The inside staff were helpful and courteous, but there wasn’t anyone outside to direct us to the first tee. The round was just shy of 4 hours and 45 minutes, which I got the feeling isn’t unusual because the group behind us never waited or caught us the entire round. My family did enjoy the round, but we agree that there are better options in the area.

Excellent shape, well-manicured, friendly staff; will return again

Very nice course layout in dire need of maintenance. You can tell this was once a gem, but it now many of the tee boxes are bare sand with ratty, brown grass. A few of the greens are in good shape and roll consistently, but many need reseeding and lots of TLC. The cart paths need to be resurfaced things like the tee markets and wood signs all need to be repainted it replaced.

Hopefully, the new management will devout the necessary resources to fix this course up and return it to it's earlier glory. The green's fee is affordable, which is one other positive, but I would rather pay more to enjoy this course layout with proper upkeep. Until the time that it is properly maintained, I would avoid this course.

As one of the cheaper courses in the area, expect some rough conditions. Tee boxes completely brown, crab grass everywhere, and hard bunkers. Nice layout would be amazing if they’d put more care into the turf.
