Rose Hill Golf Club
About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Not kept up. Lack of sand, needs mowing
Have been playing this course for over ten ears. The new clubhouse is beautiful but understaffed. Had to wait 10-15 on turn to get a iced tea. Sand traps are in awful shape. Need a lot of sand and grooming.
Coming back nicely!
After being closed a short period, this course is coming back nicely with new management. Greens were slow but running smoothly. Friendly staff, a very enjoyable round.
Playable
Nice , fairly playable course for average golfers. Today, the course was wet so it played “long”.
Bunkers could use some attention.
But, good greens and fairways.
The new management has improved the greens. The fairways need a little more time to kill patches of crab grass but they are in good shape.
This is a fun course for the price.
Course to check off your list
First time playing this course. Staff in the pro shop was very friendly. Course was in pretty good shape. Greens on front nine rolled very true. Back nine had been aerated a couple weeks or so ago. They were a little bumpy.... On the course we made new friends that offered to help look for water balls. They gladly wanted their pic added to the review. I will be playing this course again. Pretty open but also has some challenges.
Better Than Current Reviews
We are visiting HH Island again and I decided to play Rose Hill. I read the reviews and heard an opinion from another golfer at another golf course. The reviews and his opinion were inaccurate. I was pleasantly surprised at the very good condition of the course and greens. If I had the time - I would play it again.
Enjoy the game of Golf!
Rain killed the round
Greens were in good shape but pretty slow. Fairways were pretty good some tee boxes need work
Diamond in the rough
This course has been open for less than a week under new management when I played. The greens were very rough, bumpy, and sssssllllllooooowwww! Maybe 6 on the stimp if I had to guess. The rough had not been touched but the layout is nice and pace of play was right at 4 hours. If I had to play it again, I would wait a few months to see if the new management can get the conditions better than they are right now.
Overall, the people were good. Course was in mediocre shape, greens very bumpy & weedy (must have recently been aerated) rough was patchy
Conditions
Considering all of the rain course was in very good shape.
