Rose Hill Golf Club

What an improvement! I have not played Rose Hill for three years- on purpose. I decided to give it a try after reading all of the recent good reviews. I’m glad I did! The course is in GREAT shape. The greens and fairways that used to be dirt are now lush and green. I’d say that the course is now on par with the other less-than-$89 courses in the area. Well done! Cant wait to play it again!

I booked this course the night before because it had an early 7.40am tee time available. I read the recent reviews, which were mixed, and was therefore expecting something like a municipal course more geared for beginners to dig up. As I was looking to test some new woods I figured I could live with it however I was very much mistaken about the condition and quality of the course. Very challenging with quite narrow fairways and greens and tee boxes in great condition. This was either the quickest turnaround seen in golf course management or some peoples’ expectations are way inflated.

To respond to some of the previous reviews there were a couple of greens that have small parts of them under repair but it was easy enough to move your ball no nearer the hole and play from there. They were in heavily shaded areas which probably explains why they’re taking longer to get in shape. The cart paths had a couple of areas where it was a little bumpy but no worse than any of the $90-100 courses I’ve played on Hilton Head.

I thought this was great value, challenging, especially if you’re not straight off the tee and the pace of play was perfect. The round took about 3h45m and that was with some chatting to a couple of member who I was partnered with. Would like to say thank you to Ron and Clarence for their company and guidance on where to hit the ball for a most enjoyable round. Sorry I couldn’t put where you told me to often enough!

If you haven’t played Rosehill because you remember the poor conditions years ago, you have to try it now. This is one of the best deals around. The greens keepers have to be commended for their great work.

I have a 3 year golf membership there. Because of COVID-19, a policy was instituted to charge $30 cart fee instead of the $20.00 previously agreed upon because of the 1 Player per cart rule. Because of this, I have not used any of my membership to play the course since I got the membership. It is my request that the 3 year membership be extended 6 months due to COVID 19 and that the cart policy go back to its original charge.

The course itself was great. It can be pricey if not for GOLFNOW hot deals. The ranger was a little too uptight and made his presence felt more than I thought was necessary. He was a nice guy though and I plan on playing this course again soon.

We were the first group out so we set the pace 2 of us played in 3: hours

2nd time playing this course. My wife and I had a fantastic time. The course was in wonderful shape. Always on the lookout to play here. It’s a great value

Congratulations to the rose hill team for getting the condition of the course in much better shape versus years gone bye.

While the fairways and greens are good condition, The tee boxes and sides of fairways aweful. Tee boxes not maintained, side fairways has dead branches, trash and poor view

The two practice holes in terrible condition. The one green close to beautiful Oak Terrace restaurant has tall weeds, terrible greens and is disgrace to the restaurant

Rosehill has a good layout but the course was pretty mediocre and could use some TLC.

If you are looking for a good value this is a great course. However the pace of play is slow and mowers are out during busy times. I would play here again if the tee time was later in the day. Mornings are very congested.

Played this course yesterday morning and I have to say it’s a lot better then expected. I have been coming to the island for over 10 years and rose hill was a notorious laughing stock. However new management is really starting to clean it up. Tee boxes and greens aren’t bad. The aerification should be done in a week or 2 but greens still were running consistent. It’s definitely a half step below Indigo Run or The Port Royals but is a huge steal if you catch it on a hot deal under 40$. Practice range and greens are ok, but they do offer a practice a hole which is really cool. Fairways are solid but missing them can be tough as there isn’t much forgiveness. Played from the farthest tees and shot 84 which is about my handicap. Tough par 3.”s but very score able par 5s.

We played 18 and found the course in good sharpe and the game flowed well. Keep up the good work on the course!

I've always enjoyed the layout at Rose Hill, but had stopped playing there a couple of years ago because it was in such bad shape. Starting playing there again last year as friends were giving it a 'last chance'. I can tell you it has certainly improved and continues to improve.

It is a challenging track, with some narrow hitting areas, plenty of trees and water hazards to deal with.

The greens are in great shape, the tee boxes for the most part are kept mowed and free of bare areas. Traps still need a bit of work but acceptable. The fairways and rough is where the course needs to keep moving forward to turn this course from good to great.

Enjoy playing here and will continue to do so, as long as improvements to the overall experience continue to grow.

The course layout is very good..

I am a member of course and it plays fine, but the course does need to be tighten up and taken care of better.
