Rose Hill Golf Club
About
Rose Hill Golf Club in Bluffton is situated amongst plentiful live oaks draped with Spanish moss. There are also sparkling, crystal-clear lakes that come into play on several holes. The golf course is a part of Rose Hill Plantation, giving it a truly Southern look and feel. Most of the holes are flat and straightforward but there are a few tricky doglegs to keep the course interesting. The layout features formidable par 3s that will test even the best players and a notably difficult par 5 that measures just over 600 yards. The challenging holes are balanced with player-friendly features that make it versatile enough for a wide range of skill levels. Four sets of tees, the longest coming to just over 6,900 yards, make Rose Hill Golf Club even more accessible.

Nice course
Once the course has been fixed it will be a great course. Even with the mess on the back nine I enjoyed the course.
My favorite course in the Hilton head area
Though I love to Play golf, I also love wildlife because I am a photographer and writer… This course is great for both… I really enjoy the golf here and I see more wildlife then anywhere near Hilton head… I highly recommend this Golf course for anyone visiting the area!!!
Bad back 9
The clubhouse was being renovated and the men’s room was a portapotty. The back 9 was as bad as I have seen condition-wise. Dead greens. The sprinklers came on as we approached the 1st green and even though we called the clubhouse we had to play through the water. We have played there every year at least once for years, but that was probably our last visit. The fact that tax was not disclosed until we paid was not conducive to our enjoyment.
Many greens have been lost!
My main issue was with the greens. Many have very little grass left. The three members who I played with were great guys but even they had modified rules for putting on the bad greens.
Honestly, until their greens grow back, there are many courses in the area that are much better values.
Course needs improvement
The course definitely has potential. Lay out is very good. Course conditions are very lacking. However, course is now under new management and changes are coming for future improvement.
Poor Course, disappointing
I should have read previous reviews. This course at Rose Hill is awful.
People at front desk not friendly, course conditions terrible and amenities the worse.
Go to alternate course as this one is waste of money.
Close course, make into a park.
Rose Hill
Course layout good, but greens totally unacceptable. This produced a complete disappointment to myself and my guests.
Improving
This course was on life support beginning of March. They have definitely made marked improvements to front 9 greens. New management is certainly putting in the effort to making this a fine course. Very good layout and I'm rooting for Stevens Group to bring back to life. They were left with disaster. Played May 11 and 12
This course has seen better days
Four years ago I played Rosehill and found it to be a great experience. Unfortunately an ownership change has resulted in the deterioration of this golf course. However, the price is right so not all is bad. And the staff are friendly which also adds to the experience.
The good - layout is challenging with lots of water and sand to keep you honest.
The not so good - several greens on the back nine are damaged and very bumpy (We played a two-putt rule); sand traps are poor - owners this would be an easy fix - starts with raking them daily!.
Overall not a complete washout.
Teribble Golf course
Terrible conditions. Feel like was ripped off on course and cart fees.
Fairways scorched, greens even worse. Waste of money.
1 mile away at Island West and Eagkes Point, great course, great value vs Rise Hill course. Pay the extra $3 for a much better course.
A bit rough
Nice layout. Fairways OK, Greens OK, Everything a bit rough but you can see it’s getting better. A scenic layout.
Worse golf course in Bluffton
Don't waste your money. Course in terrible condition, and getting even worse.
Fairways and, and greens deplorable. Bunkers have weeds.
Should close course and save monies. Will never improve, too far gone.
Waste of our groups time and money playing at this course.
Horrible conditions
This course has tremendous potential however it was in horrible shape. The tee boxes were awful, the fairways unkept and the greens a disaster. To top it off, the sprinkler system turned on when we were on the 9th tee!!! Management would be better to invest in their course rather than building a new clubhouse
Horrible greens
Course is in such bad condition I feel as though $35 with a cart was actually a rip off.
Sorry the ground guy ruined back 4 holes but hope for a better result when we come in October
Awful
Worst course I’ve played in a year and a half. Building a new clubhouse. Fix the course first. Close it for a month and work on it. Brutal.
Greens terrible.
Teeboxes terrible
Fairways terrible
Have photos but can’t figure out how to post.
