Cool tee shot at the par-3 13th hole. Reminds me a bit of 16 at Augusta. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 02/17/2020

A tricky finishing hole; a dogleg right over a lake to an elevated green. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 02/17/2020

A quick trip outside of Columbia is so worth it. What a wonderful course. Greens rolled well, fairways were in great shape. Layout was open yet challenging for taking advantage of hitting the greens from the proper angles. Go once, you will be back for sure.
Pleasant surprise
The range is not much to look at and the clubhouse needs updated. BUT, this course is fantastic! Greens are fast and some challenging shot making holes. I first moved here a couple of years ago and a guy at a driving range told me to check it out. One of my favorites. If you like to walk, this course is for you.
Chester is a great value
When I saw the tee time on GN for $18.00, I was a bit afraid we'd end up in a dump like Pinetuck that isn't worth 18 cents. A friend who was familiar with the course advised us to go. We did. The club is about 1 hour from Charlotte, down I-77, and rural. But, it's a hidden little gem. Well maintained, greens in good shape, and fairways very forgiving. I would have paid twice the amount that I did.
Chester Golf Club
Very beautiful course with a very creative layout. Great mix of challenging and forgiving holes that allows everyone in the group to enjoy some success. The staff was very helpful and kind. Will definite go back for another round soon.
Hidden gem for the price
Course In the middle of the nowhere just outside of Charlotte. Glad I came to play. Every hole is different. Pretty good condition considering it is early March
Thanks for the nice review. So glad that you enjoyed the course. Please visit us again soon!
Chester Golf Club
Excellent personnel and course was in excellent condition.
Glad you liked the course and staff! Thanks for the nice review.
Great golfing
Chester is a great course for all golfers. It has challenging holes as well as big, wide fairways for the 20 handicapper. The greens are smooth as silk and allow great putting to stand out. Overall, it's just a great little golf course !
Appreciate the nice review. Please come again soon!
I played the course for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The course was very well maintained and if I lived in the area would play it before I would go to play Lancaster Golf Club which I played the day before. The greens were big and were rolling around a 11.The staff was friendly and let me go out before my tee time. I live about 63 miles away but would come back to play again. The only thing I should say is that before leaving make sure you take all your personal items out of the cart because I left a 20 oz Yeti tumbler in the cart and when I called the course the next day they said it wasn't turned in.
Thanks for the nice review. Please come again.
Great Round
Course in great shape for this time of year. Greens just perfect but fast. Beware if you are putting down hill ball will zip past hole if you don't sink it
Thanks for taking time to review. Glad that you liked the course.
Very nice golf course
First time ever played Chester Golf Club. Nice course layout, good conditions for end of December. Definitely want to play again, especially with good deal on Golfnow. Bermuda type greens dormant, but in good shape. Able to play the ball down in fairway. Clubhouse is very basic, small building, with snacks available. Not a Country Club clubhouse with food service. Although I rode a cart, seemed to be very walkable course.
Thanks for taking time to review and for the kind words.
Thanks so much for the review and glad that you enjoyed the course!
Too Bad - SLOW
Had to wait 10 minutes every hole. It was so bad we did NOT play back 9. Never play there again!
Also, traps were MUD not sand
Great course for dollar value. Staff friendly. Greens lightning fast best around charlotte.
Best kept secret in the Carolinas
Great Course, with a great staff! Keith, Bobby and Rick are the best. The greens are slick and challenging. The fairways are nicely mown, and the ruffs are tough. It is very dry in the Carolinas right now, but the course is still great. I can't say enough good about this place. It's worth stopping and playing anytime you get a chance!!
Wind and leaves
I have played this course dozens of times as I am a former member of Lancaster Golf Club, but only twice since the greens were redone. The geeens were great! Rolled true and were a little quick, especially from above the hole. The fairways were full and almost too cushiony. The layout is fair and challenging and requires both right to left and left to right shots. The 10-15mph wind made for a tough day and pushed several shots out of the fairway. An abundance of leaves caused several balls to be "lost", so staying in the fairway is vital. Several of the cups were not seated properly and caused a great birdie putt to hit the cup liner and pop back out to the front of the hole. That's about all the negative. Don't hesitate to take a drive the Chester, especially if you get a Hot Deal tee time. $18 on a Sunday can't be beat!
Thanks so much for taking time to review and glad you enjoyed the course.
Worth The Drive
Wow! What an absolute beautiful course. Near perfect greens. Soft sand. Well maintained fairways. Perfect yardage for an average golfer (14 handicap). The course is challenging but fair and has multiple scoring holes. Did I mention the greens, very fast, but role true. This course is now part of our rotation and I'm considering joining.
The only disappointment was the lack of a hot meal at the turn.
Very good shape
I like playing Chester as its been in very good shape for quite awhile now, never crowded, good layout, and great deal for what you pay. It also is a very walkable course, which makes it more reasonable .
Thanks so much for the review. Looking forward to your next visit!
