Chester Golf Club

Despite heavy recent rains the course was in good shape. 90 degree rule on most holes. Loved the layout, especially for a walker. Nice greens, somewhat soft from the rain but in good shape. Staff was warm and friendly. Played single and two foursomes let me play through. Very mannerly bunch. Fairways all were in good shape. Had to plan shots carefully particularly on holes where water was in play. I'll be back soon. Great layout.

Chester is in great shape - definitely about the best I've ever seen it in. If you don't mind the short drive, you won't be disappointed. The course plays right in front of you and is fair and forgiving yet still a good challenge.

Played the course for a second time. The staff was great and the speed of play was normal of most golf courses I play. Several holes make you think about club selection as not all holes can you use a driver.I would recommend playing this course as I plan to a couple more times this year.

Eventho there were 2 major down pours, the course was still very playable! The green are always true and are receptive to well hit iron shots. Fairways are always in great shape..

This course is set in the forest with tree lined fairways. Tree areas are mowed which speeds up play. Fairways are wide but doglegs create challenges as do the large raised greens. Sand bunkers are soft and well maintained. Several holes demand carries over water into the green. Drawback is a lack of food other than hotdogs and vending machines. However a country course worth the drive!

This is my second time playing after really enjoying my first trip. I really loved the bent grass greens that are in great condition. I also enjoyed fairways which have come in nicely with the hotter weather, nice lies all the way around. The layout is a nice mix of different challenges. Great par 5's. Even though it is a bit of a drive from Charlotte, this is the best value around. Very friendly and professional staff. I'll be back!

The day we played, the weather was great. The pace of play was real good. We played at mid-day, and we about had the course to ourselves to begin with.The layout of the course can be challenging, but rewarding if you hit some good shots. I play with a group of four and we play a lot of different places. We will play Chester again.

The course was is good shape. The greens were soft and rolling true as usual.

Played on a Sunday with my son at 9:44am. Thought it would be crowded but was fairly quiet. Played at a good pace until we caught up to earlier groups around the 12th tee Still decent pace. Course was in good shape but not as nice as Springfield Lakes but much cheaper. For the price will play there again

This is a great course and in great condition. The greens are in excellent condition and the drive is well worth it.

My first round in three months. I birdied the first and third holes and had a lot of confidence after that. I really liked the greens and lay out. Very friendly pro shop. I walked the course. Definitely a walkable track. I enjoyed the day.Now it's back to the snow in Chicago where I hope to play again by April. Maybe

For it being winter and all, I think this course is in good shape. Hole #14 had beaten up fairway spots around 125 yards and in. Cart paths are terrible in some spots but they had fixed the other cart path issues from last year which shows they are attentive and mindful to the course shape. I loved the greens and bunkers, both were in excellent shape for the time of year. If I was to be very picky, some of the tee boxes were placed in terrible spots as there was not a flat spot to hit besides ten yards back from the markers...hard to get comfortable in the box. But hey, I love this course and I think it's the best in the area!

This was by far the friendliest course that I have played at. The course was in great condition for being a public course, and the pace of play and challenge was ideal.

Played late on Sunday morning and early afternoon, and course was not very busy, so pace of play was good. Greens were in good shape and not overly fast, and not a lot of undulations or tricky breaks. Sand bunkers were well maintained and the sand was of good consistency. The course is pretty flat and nothing very tricky about the layout. Enjoyable round overall.

Charming course and fair. Greens were little slow and in average shape.

A short drive from south Charlotte, this course represents a great golf value. A mature course in great condition, the layout is interesting and fair. I will definitely return.

Was a great course and fun time till we started the back 9 were we caught up to a foursome that was playing painfully slow and not willing to let our twosome play through. Waited 5-10 minutes every shot on back 9 and i do MEAN THE WHOLE BACK !!! Was told they were members..

Very fair course. Easy to walk. Some holes make you think. Can shoot a low round or it can bite you.
