Chester Golf Club

I booked a tee time though this site...Upon arrival we were told my reservation was not in their system...I looked at the email confirm on my phone and realized I had made an error on the tee time.
Even though the course was busy, the person at the desk honored the rate and allowed us to go play much earlier than our scheduled time.
I was with guys in their 60's and we played the whites. The yardage on the card seemed to be a short. The whites are plenty of golf for most mid to high handicappers. The bent grass greens need some work as they have been invaded with bermudagrass. Over all, the course is nice and because it is in a rural area, there is not a house to be seen anywhere. A plus.

Dean a member of the staff is very friendly person and the course is in good shape. hole 12 and 18 very challenging.

After suffering a bit of cabin fever and having family in town for the holidays I made the call for me & some out of towners toand play a round in January (a treat for my Buffalo family). We were a bit apprehensive about our choice upon pulling in but that all evaporated once we got to the clubhouse. The staff (Dean) is top notch, best I've ever had the opportunity to share some laughs with. A great open course, forgiving for the casual golfer but enough tricky shots to make it interesting & fun for the ringers in your foursome. The laid back atmosphere gave this course bonus points & the staff made this double-special...upon learning we had a Yankees Fan in our family the pro-shop staff took the time to give some historical knowledge on the course, even showing us a photo from the office of the first person to hit the first shot on the course.... One Mickey Mantle. Though Mother Nature got the best of us that day, shutting us out on 15, I'll be back here more than once in future rounds!

This was my last outing with my son before he is shipped off to boot camp , so we had a great time . The pace was great for us .rhe course was in great shape and GN had great deal on times. Traveled 1 hour to play. highly recommended

Greens and fairways still in good condition and leaves are controlled well.

Fun layout. Overall the course was is decent shape. Fairways were nice. Tee boxes were okay and bunkers were in good shape. Greens were not in the best shape but rolled well. Inconsistent firmness from one hole to the next. Greens were slick and balls with spin plugged or skipped but rarely checked up. Staff were extremely friendly. Practice range is small and facilities are out dated.

The guy in the clubhouse, sorry I forgot his name, was super friendly when advised it was our first time. He took the time to give us some history on the course and also some tips about how to aim on some of the more demanding holes we would encounter. We will be back....

This was my second time playing there. One of the best muni courses in the area. You will use every club in your bag and have a chance to practice your ability to shape the ball. The food at the turn could use some improving but it sufficed. Questionable hot dogs, prepackaged sandwiches and vending machines. At least they sold cold beer!

Heard good things about the course. It was a far drive from Charlotte but I thought I would give it a shot. The greens were very inconsistent. Course was way overpriced, should be $30 max during prime hours. Bunkers need sand as well.

Very nice course.great rate through golf now. Staff was very friendly. Although they punched their greens on Tuesday and Wednesday, you could hardly tell.

Okay fist I was a little late stuck in traffic so I called and said I was going to be late and he said okay thats fine come on and we will fit you in maybe start out on the back 9. This was not a problem for me I was playing by my self and I play fast so I wasnt worried. I never played here before either. But the guy at the counter was not that bad at this time. But I started out playing and the whole time im playing on the back 9 I have a guy that works there following me in a golf cart watching me so I start to get aggravated and ask him is there a problem and he was like well who told u to start on the back 9 I told him the guy up front I think dino or something and this guy was really a mean. He said well the people in front of you and the people behinde you play here every saturday and they get mad if they get held up by a new comers. And he was like but ur just doing what dino told you to do. For one nobody had to wait on me at all and I asked if if he was going to just follow me and watch me play the whole time and he was like well I got to keep up with the people around you to make sure they are happy so im getting mad and about ready to just go get a refund and play somewhere else. I play golf every Saturday and just cause im not a regular there u could tell he didnt want me there. The guy was really making me mad me off and still basically watched me around the whole course for the 3 hrs I was there riding in his cart. Cause I was new to the course I guess and he didnt want me making other people mad in which I paid just as much to play on the course as anybody else there and I always thought a customer was a customer no matter how many times you go there whos to say that if I dont like the course I want come every Saturday. Well the staff there is terrible and if you have never played this course before I would not recomend you playing there cause they will treat you like some thug walking around in a million dollar neighborhood. I will never come back nor tell anybody to come here.

Course is very welll maintained from tee bx to green. Course design was nice and not a busy course. But, location is a bit far from charlotte.

Overall course layout is very good, a good mix of holes. Water in play on a few holes and some minor elevation changes. Greens were very soft, which made putts a little slow, but putts could be holed. You could definitely fire at the hole and the ball would stop. Will definitely play again.

Greens were soft and a bit slow but in good shape. Not a whole lot of slope so putts are easier to read.The tee boxes and fairways are also nice. Packed sand made bunkers more challenging. Overall, a very nice course. Definitely worth the ride.

Old clubhouse but the rest of the course is in great condition especially for the price.

Great course in excellent shape in a beautiful setting. I rode, but this is a very walkable course. I will be back. Senior rates for walking during the week are very reasonable. Senior and walking rate are not posted online.

Beautiful course in country setting. Very good value for the money. Course was in excellent shape. Greens were a little bumpy in places but still very good, fairways were immaculate. Course is challenging for a beginner with multiple holes over water. Carts were newer and quick. Clubhouse is very old and only has hot dogs and sandwiches out of a vending machine. Staff could not be any friendlier. A little far for anyone in Charlotte, but I plan on going back a couple times a year for variety.

Overall is good but the green is slow. Need more roll down.

A little surprised at the registration environment
on this day. The total experience in the club house was extremely different from last and previous golf outings at the Chester course.
We entered with a cordial and welcoming reception. The registration was quick, simple and without a hitch as compared to past experiences. Quite surprising but encouraging! The course was in great shape and the weather was awesome! A great day on the golf course !!!
