Great Course in great condition
After rains this past week I expected cart path only, just happy to get out and play and expect sloppy conditions. The Course was in great shape and not sloppy at all. No real issues and it is always in frat shape. 35 mile drive from Matthews but worth the drive. I’ll be back!!!
Not As Good As A Few Weeks Ago
Many greens had bad spots
Many bunkers were terrible
A few aprons were ruined
Back 9 took over 2 hours

Good course
Good course but kinda expensive for no. Members. Course is usually in good condition but I just can’t afford to play there much.

Chester golf
Played here plenty of times. Today’s pace seemed on top of each other so a bit stressed. The rain storm from the day before caused several bunkers to be mini lakes...and lost a ball in one UGH

Starter needed.
Pace of play is horrible. They send everyone off whenever. Need a starter or to start spreading out the tee times.

Great Afternoon of Golf in Chester
I am a member, and might be a little biased. However, I got this request to rate my experience in my Sunday afternoon round. The Greens and fairways are in terrific condition. The warm nights and plentiful rains this summer help to keep the fairways lush and green and the rough provides some extra attention on club selection and proper swing to advance the ball towards the green. Several holes provide a forced carry over water and the course is well protected with fairway and greenside bunkers. There was some residual water in some bunkers from overnight rains. Anyone that enjoys golf will appreciate and enjoy playing Chester Golf Club.

Really nice golf course for an intermediate golfer but challenging for an advance player. Well-groomed course and play was monitored.

I would play it again
Chester is a nice little course that I thought challenging. This was my second time playing. Its a 40-45 minute drive from south Charlotte. Price was average compared to other courses similarly rated. Staff was friendly. Overall course condition was good. Several holes need work on either tee box, fairway or green, but overall good. Travel, price, condition of course, pace of play considered, I will return!

My go-to.
Chester is a great layout that plays easy until you mishit a shot. Then you are put into some dicey scrambling situations. Course is always in great shape although they are having a couple of trouble spots on 2-3 greens with the heat of summer currently. I love going evenings during the week since I can get 18 holes in about 2.5 hours. This is my go-to course when I am at home. I live 5 minutes from FM golf course but would never be able to get 18 holes in during an evening round during the week. Friendly staff and always have a cold poweraide or beer in the cooler depending on how I am feeling. Looking forward to the next round at Chester GC.

Consistently Enjoyable to Play Here
Played Wed. evening 7/22. Course was in great shape as usual. Have played here quite a few times over the years. Back 9 is more challenging than the front, requiring some strategic shots. A great place to play, and a great value.

Fun
This is a fun course to play. The forced carries can lead to a heart break if you you pull the wrong club trying to stay below the hole! Great birthday treat playing with my son and brother.

Made two players ride in the same cart
I like Chester, but they made us double up in one cart, which I would not mind if I lived with that person. Sure I knew the guys I was playing with but with covid going crazy we should have been allowed one player to a cart. the staff at this course needs to be more friendly. They are great to the regulars but not so much to those outside players.
