A fun time at Chester
Had not played this course in about 20 years. It is in great shape. Greens were rolling quick and were in nice condition. They are kind with the senior tee placements, making for a very enjoyable round. We came from Newberry to play and plan on coming back.

Nice course out in the country!
Nice , well maintained course. Definitely favors a draw off the t , but not an overly difficult course. It’s always quite and peaceful out there and you will have a relaxing round of golf in the woods! My kind of golf! You can have your golf community’s, just let my have my creators art work and I’m ever so happy!!!

High handicap friendly
Course layout forgiving to high handicappers. Greens have good pace, and overall course conditions good. Friendly staff. Can't wait for next round.

Good Course, but bad customer experience!
I would like to mention early that the 2* review is not for the golf course, but for our customer experience as a Golfnow user. The course is in good shape from tee to green. Few tee boxes and bunkers could use some help, but nothing worth complaining. Greens, fairways and rough are in good shape. I would rate the course a solid 4.5*.
We were a twosome and had a 10:48AM tee time using a Hot Deal on July 4th. Check in at the club house around 9:50 and asked if the course was packed. Were told that we might be able to go off a bit earlier than our tee time. Just assumed if they were free then no reason why we would not be able to go off earlier. Parked the cart by 1 tee and walked to the starter at 10:00AM while there was a 4-some getting ready to tee off 1. Starter said there was group at 10:16, but they hadn't checked in and if they don't show up we can go off as the next tee time isn't until 10:30 ish. Right then the person from the clubhouse comes over and tells us that we will have to go off at our tee time of 10:48. He believed that if we paid a hot deal price we should not be allowed to tee off early since that was a higher price. Now, I completely understand if there are tee times booked we should have to wait for our tee time. He was polite when he mentioned that. So we got range balls and hit and waited while not a single person/group teed off from about 10:05 to 10:30. Then he let two foursomes go off and then told us that we could follow them.
After discussing it with a few other golfers, neither of them thought what they did was right. If I missed something please feel free to contact me. Golfnow, if you believe that my expectations are unrealistic please feel free to take down the review. I have played Chester about 10-12 times last year and the Springs courses about 20-25 times. I'm not going to let one bad experience ruin plenty of good experiences, so I will continue to recommend and play this course.
We're sorry to hear that you had a less-than-terrific experience with us. The way Hot Deals work is that those specific tee times (in your case, 10:48am) are "owned" by GolfNow are sold at their discretion and the other tee times are owned by us, the golf course. Whenever possible, we do try to keep those Hot Deal tee times locked to the designated tee off time. We apologize if that wasn't communicated properly and we hope it won't deter you from a future visit.
Really a nice course, open fairways, but few challenging holes! One the nicer courses in the area.

A Sleeper. Surprises me each time
I really like this course. The course is a broad, strong mature course with demanding holes and a few holes that are a bit out of character from the others. Those few holes are the exceptions to otherwise a great course. The staff are wonderful, price is a bargain and conditions are quite good. The greens are exceptional. We traveled down from Charlotte, which is a hike, but for the semi-monthly round of golf, it’s worthwhile.

Much improved!
It has been over a year since I played this course. They have redone the Club House and have made a lot improvements on the course and still working on some. New cart paths, redoing tee boxes and removed trees.

Great course
Course was in good shape. Greens had just been aerated so they weren’t great but that is to be expected. Will definitely be back to this course.

Booked the round on GolfNow for group of college buddies so we could meet in the middle. Chester is a good course with enough challenge to make it interesting. It is in good shape and the greens run true. Had my 1st HIO on the #3 so it was a great day!

Chester Golf Club
Course is in great shape compared to many others still suffering from the WET winter. I have always loved the layout, playing there 5 or 6 times a year.
Pro shop was remodeled in the last couple years and is much improved. The staff is, friendly and helpful, a large improvement over the past.
Green condition
The course was good and I enjoyed to play here.
If they manage the play then it would be great. Wait too long time because one slow team...

A little rough
A little rough, but not bad. Very busy weekend tee time and still played in four hours. Slowest greens I ever putted on.
