About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Course in great shape
First time back in over a year and the course is in great shape. Fairways were nice and greens in great condition. Bar staff friendly and accommodating.

Excellent conditions, friendly staff, cold beer
I’ve been playing village greens for 35 years. This is probably the best shape I’ve seen it. Everyone was very friendly; guy behind the counter, the starter and waitress at mulligans restaurant.

Played here 6 months ago. Course drastically much better
Course in very good shape. Course much better than late August when we were last here. Drive the ball well here. OB and water await on miss hit shots. My two playing partners disliked the 18 th hole. Other than that those two had no complaints. Above the hole be very careful. Putts or chip shots can travel farther than you expect. On the 16 th - one of my partners had a uphill chip from below the hole, he left it maybe 4 feet shot and it rolled back to his feet. Chip was from 30 or so feet. Par 3’s are very good here. 3 of the par 5’s are reachable in 2 with good tee shots then there is that 18 th hole as the 4 th one. Yardage is accurate and I recommend giving Village Green a try. Hit your tee shots well and stay below the hole.
Amazing course - well kept and fun to play!
This is my favorite course in the area. Always in great condition and such a fun, challenging layout. Lots of water and other hazards which, along with the rolling hills, make it so fun to play. My only complaint is being able to book a tee time on Monday mornings when a league is there with a shotgun start. This really slows down anyone currently on the course and can come as a surprise. It would be enough to just communicate that with the guests during check-in to set the proper expectation; or have the tee times blocked off during that time. Other than that; amazing course - 10/10.

Mulligan’s
$2.62 for a styrofoam cup of ice water. It came with a free attitude to start the the day and continued on the turn. I’m sure the pro appreciates them telling people on the turn to wait 5 minutes before they can get to youI. I’ll stay out there going forward. I’ve spent nights in there watching bands, eating and drinking. Some hack charging this for water has killed the whole Mulligan’s experience. Eric should address this.

Fun Course
Greens are getting better - not as fast as a month ago - recommend this fun and challenging course - staff and Mulligans are the best!!!!

Booking issue
Golf now had multiple openings. I booked the earliest tee time around 715. After i paid the guy tells me they have an event that starts a 9 with a shotgun start. So i had under 2 hrs to play a round while having to wait for the greens crew to change pin locations. Knowing they had a shotgun start at 9 they should not have posted tee times that soon prior. I would have gotten a tee time at another course if i had known but at that point it was to late. Horrible experience probably won't play there again.

Much more friendlier this time than last. Not sure they got the one on our last trip but his attitude was not conducive to helping customers. A much, much better experience at the desk this time which made for a much better day overall.
