About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Nice course.
First time playing the course in almost 8 years. Still very nice and a good challenge for me.
Village Greens review
Played here many times years ago. Love the course. You will use every club in your bag. Club house and maintenance around the course were very friendly. When Spring really sets in this course will be in great shape. Maintenance working hard to get it 100 %. I will be back.

Overbooked tee times
Had a 10:36 AM tee time. When getting to the first tee there were 4 groups of 4 waiting to tee off. Waited on every shot. The course seemed nice but the slow pace was annoying.

Nice course...
Nice course. Friendly staff. Unfortunately had to leave a bit early due to time constraints.
Pace of play was slower than average.

Greens suck
Nice course as far as layout, but these greens are just pitiful, very very very fast even in the winter. 2 ft put can turn into a off the green putt very quickly

Would play again
I played the course on 2/19/21 and the course was still very wet due to all the rain but the course did play well. On a couple of holes where the cart path was being replaced. Which is understandable but I do not personally like it, makes for a rough and a unpleasant ride at times. All in all it was a good course to play for the amount of money and I will be playing it again.

Slow
Pace of play is beyond slow and according to two staff members a 6 hr round on the wknd is not abnormal.

Pace of play always moves well, never have to wait long, course was nice

Unfriendly Staff
Backed up too much. Front of people playing too slow.
They don’t manage properly which means they don’t have Marshall around to bring players move faster.

Nice layout and they are making improvements.
I have always liked this layout with rolling hills, pine trees and water on the course. They have replaced their cart paths and they are smooth. (big improvement) I saw a lot of new turf around the course that will make the course much better to play.
Nice course
Course is nice and in good condition. Only green that needs work in Number 2. Overall staff friendly and pace of play is pretty good

Dormant, painted bermuda greens are VERY quick!
Except for a couple of holes this is a real shotmakers course. Rain 2 days before meant there was mud on your ball at times but usually not. Much easier (1-2 a side) with firm fast conditions in warmer weather!
