About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Village Greens
The was in good shape. A couple of greens had some bare spots, but did not interfere with putting.

No hole layout
Course is very good for the price. If you’ve never played before, you’ll hit a few good shots and find your ball OB because there’s no layout on the scorecard or really anywhere for that matter. Greens are nice and true. Tee boxes aren’t level on many holes. Play the tips if you drive the ball 220+ Would return if they warned for water and had better yardages to hazards.

Plays like a mountain course
A nice day of golf but.... there are no pictures, diagrams, maps of the holes. For a first visit to the course, many if the holes were hard to navigate. C'mon put a map on the scorecard. Also, would you please set the tee box markers on a flat area. The fairways have very few flat lies. At least give us a fighting chance off the tee.
Thanks for the suckered pin positions today from uneven lies in the fairways. At least the greens fan true. No surprise breaks.

Great condition
I just moved to the Greenville area so I’m playing all the courses around. This was my 7th course in the area and im going to have to rank top 2 just off how great of condition it’s in. Always little bummed when there are holes blocked off from cart driving, only negative. Believe there were about 3.

GREAT Day
Was out first so pace of play was Awesome. Course was much better than when I played here a couple months ago. Pro shop staff was very friendly. I have played here every couple of years for many years. Always enjoyed the layout. If you drive the ball well the course can be getable. If not you pay the price and that’s the way it should be. The Par 3’s will test your skill. The par 5’s can be your friend and birdies can be scored. Fun course but again - drive the ball well.

Overall decent
Day before Mother's Day so the course was extraordinarily overbooked, barely a spot to park. We weren't able to tee off until about a half hour after our original tee time.
Driving range was fine, putting green was neglected and barely usable.
Guy working the desk was nice albeit a bit unprofessional. Starter was extraordinarily rude.
Course in decent shape, few greens had a dead area. No course or hole maps available and yardage markers are scarce to non-existent except for 150 and 100 markers. Yardage gun highly recommended.

I love this course other than Hole 18
1. Fairways and Tee Boxes- they are currently in great shape and well maintained with the tips (blue tees) playing around 6500 yards
2. Greens - Hole 15 and 16 has a couple spots they are having to do some maintenance on, but the greens are in great shape on the other holes and the two spots in need of maintenance don’t make the greens unplayable
3. The course setup allows for an instant scoring opportunity on hole 1 and then a fair balance between scoring holes and holes with danger. Most of the danger you see is either trees or water but nothing that is overly difficult
4. Hole 18 owns my soul due to the layout and while it’s not rated the most difficult hole on the course, it plays the hardest for me

Good Shape - overbooked
The course was in really good shape. Greens were quick and layout was challenging. They were way overbooked. We teed off 30 minutes late and it took us 5 1/2 hours to play 18.
