About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Overall decent
Day before Mother's Day so the course was extraordinarily overbooked, barely a spot to park. We weren't able to tee off until about a half hour after our original tee time.
Driving range was fine, putting green was neglected and barely usable.
Guy working the desk was nice albeit a bit unprofessional. Starter was extraordinarily rude.
Course in decent shape, few greens had a dead area. No course or hole maps available and yardage markers are scarce to non-existent except for 150 and 100 markers. Yardage gun highly recommended.

I love this course other than Hole 18
1. Fairways and Tee Boxes- they are currently in great shape and well maintained with the tips (blue tees) playing around 6500 yards
2. Greens - Hole 15 and 16 has a couple spots they are having to do some maintenance on, but the greens are in great shape on the other holes and the two spots in need of maintenance don’t make the greens unplayable
3. The course setup allows for an instant scoring opportunity on hole 1 and then a fair balance between scoring holes and holes with danger. Most of the danger you see is either trees or water but nothing that is overly difficult
4. Hole 18 owns my soul due to the layout and while it’s not rated the most difficult hole on the course, it plays the hardest for me

Good Shape - overbooked
The course was in really good shape. Greens were quick and layout was challenging. They were way overbooked. We teed off 30 minutes late and it took us 5 1/2 hours to play 18.

Decent greens with awful fairways
Playing this course in early spring i did not expect it to be in perfect shape but the fairways were borderline unplayable. On the first hole my group had to agree that we could move your ball anywhere within a 10 yard radius to find a patch of actual grass. The starter was this really old grumpy man who did not seem like he wanted to be there. Pace of play was horrendous. We had to wait in every single shot, ended up being a 5 and a half hour round. We had a 1:56 tee time and did not even get to tee off until almost 2:30. I have played this course a handful of times with the last being in the fall and i was extremely disappointed in the decline of the course since then

Pleasantly surprised
Traveled an hour and a half to meet a friend here and was NOT disappointed. Course was challenging, but enjoyable. I would love to go back further in the spring when the brown Bermuda turns full green.

Course played good
Course was a little backed up but after playing through things moved along better. The course was in decent shape for it to be winter time.

Challenging but fun
Course would play much fairer if there was grass in the fairways and greens were out of dormancy
Quite a few of the fairways slope and tee balls roll far too much
Will play again once course is in better shape
Very slow play today - 5 hour rd and had to wait on most shots

Slow play.
Had a group of walkers two to three groups ahead of us. Wouldn’t allow to play through. Otherwise fantastic course!

Love this course
70 degrees -- everyone wanted to play so slow play was expected. Course is good shape coming out of winter. Love this course and will play again and again and again.

Great little Track
I was a single - had a 3 threesome ahead of me and I was just enjoying the perfect day. I was never rushed and the 3some ahead played quickly - I was done in 3 hours! I have played this course before when visiting the area. Always enjoyed and the greens are in really good shape.
