The Preserve at Verdae sprawls across a lush landscape of rolling hills and meadows covered with beautiful Carolina forests. Formerly known as Verdae Greens, the golf course was completely revamped but one of the primary goals of the renovation was to find harmony between golf and nature. The carefully reworked course does just that, blending seamlessly into its scenic surroundings. Rambling brooks wander across the layout and provide water hazards on a few holes. The wind is also a major factor on this golf course. The breezes can be either light and refreshing or strong and blustery, making proper club selection even more important. The most photographed hole on the golf course is the par-3 second. If you're lucky enough to come when the azaleas are blooming, this hole offers a breathtaking setting.

Course could be in better shape...

The course was in relatively good shape but not as good a shape as Furman or Clemson if you play those two courses. They are still having trouble with the greens. Many of the greens have bare spots and they still can't use half of the green on 13. This course has a high level of play and bare areas from cart traffic are commonplace. Honestly, the course needs to be redone. Removing trees and foliage will help the grass grow. Otherwise, it's just going to continue to suffer.

Beautiful Holes

Having lived and played golf courses in Las Vegas for the last 30 years, this was a pleasure to play a course with trees lining every hole on both sides of the fairways. Having course knowledge is important as I hit in the wrong positions on many of the holes.

Good deal for a hot deal.

This course is usually in pretty good shape and today was on par with most days. There were spots on some greens that need work though. Fairways were in good shape. I hear that they are going to work on repairing some greens soon so some temporary greens are in the future from what I understand.

Difficult to play anywhere else!

Course conditions were very good. The design is outstanding. I got senior rate which makes this affordable every week to play. I parred the first and last holes (don't ask what happened in between! ha!)

Nancy in the pro Shop is Outstanding !

Not played here in 7 years. Nancy in the Pro shop really makes you feel welcome and is a GREAT asset for this club. Kirby the starter is also extremely friendly and gets you off the first tee very quickly. Course is in good shape. Recommend the course but stop in a tell Nancy hello !
