Hyland Golf Club

My father was in town and him and I were looking for a place to play. I have not played here in a few years but decided to give it a try. The weather was perfect. The cart guy came over and was extremely friendly and courteous. We were able to go out early and play at our own pace. The course was in good condition but the greens were EXCELLENT. I know a couple years ago it was put under new ownership and you can tell they are investing in the course which is nice to see as it has always been a good layout. Only thing to improve would be yardage markers, unfortunately I do not own a handheld and it was difficult especially on the par 3's.

The course is fine for the price, just over-rated in reviews. It is not a 4, its a 3. Traps and cart paths are not good. Most fairways have some areas that lack grass but Greens are pretty good and layout is fun.

Played this course for the first time after years of playing the same handful of courses in Southern Pines and Pinehurst. Not sure why Hyland has never popped up on my radar, but I'm glad it did. What it lacks in "polish", it makes up for with a great layout--a strikingly beautiful lake valley in the middle of the track acts as the centerpiece to a bountiful bevy of holes that are challenging, but straightforward as they curl up, down, and around the picturesque landscape. The cart paths and tee boxes could use some love, but the fairways and greens were in as good of shape as any course in the area. Will definitely be adding this one to the yearly rotation!

One of the most beautiful courses I have played at in the area. Highly recommend!

After a normal 2 hour front 9 we got stuck behind 2 foursomes that has started a hour before us. These guys were playing way too slow for a Saturday afternoon, one of the busiest days of the week. We finished our round at 4 hours and 36 minutes. These guys finished well behind the pace of play. It took them at least 5 hours. And to top it off, once they finished hole 18 they didn't take their conversation to the clubhouse. Both the foursomes talked close to the green and were laughing as we were chipping and putting. At one point, a couple of them even walked behind us and close to the green as we were putting and trying to finish our round. No golf etiquette from these guys. Hopefully next time a ranger can control the pace of play better

Greens were in good shape, given the heat. Much better than some other public Sandhills courses. Staff was very friendly.

The layout is a good challenge very nice looking. greens are in awesome condition true and fast. The rest of the course is in terrible condition old and unkept clubhouse even older and falling apart couldn’t even close door in bathroom didn’t want to touch or eat anything in the clubhouse staff very friendly

Just an average course worth about $40 at the most…..paid $50 on a hot deal, not worth that. Staff was out working on the course so hopefully it becomes much better soon.

Really enjoyable round of golf. Greens were in great shape and course layout was fun.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely will play again when back in town.

Fantastic course to play! Shop staff was great and the course was challenging. Can’t find a more enjoyable experience on the greens. Guaranteed to have a great time at Hyland!

Greens have a ton of movement and are in very good condition. Fairways need another month of heat to fill in.

Very fun layout with a surprising amount of elevation change.

I don't think the score card is accurate on yardage....we played from the whites which said 6273 yds. My GPS watch was showing about 6100 yds.

Good course, old school....similar to Quail Ridge.
