Dissapointing - But I'll give it another try

Great locations with marvelous views, and a pretty challenging course, but that is all the good I have to say. This was the first time I played here and I was disappointed, but I will give it another chance. Other comments:
1) Place of play was horrible. 2:30 to play the front and 2:10 for the back. Way, way too slow.
2) The tee box makers made no sense. We played the white tees and many of them were back with the blue tees and the ones that weren't were up with the senior tees. I don't think any of the markers were within 30 yards or the correct spot.
3) They have a pin placement system but it was not implemented. So we had no idea where the pins were on the green and all the flags were the same color. The starters suggestion was to aim for the middle.
4) We teed off at 2:20 and saw the cart person at 2:30, for the last time, even though she said she would be out all afternoon. I called the starter at 4:45 and was told they go in at 4:00. Then at the next water stop the container was already taken in. So it was 85 degrees, humid, and limited water and no cart person.

The course was in pretty good shape, the fairways are narrow and the rough was long. Its a good test, but the above make me question if it is worth the money. As I said I will try it again, but if I have the same issues it will be my last time.

I have played a number of other courses in the area and this one may not be worth the $$.

Good Municipal Course

You get good value and an espically noce view of Charleston Harbor on the back nine. Variety of of tees, pin positions make for an interesting round. Assume winds can be variable and make the course play easier or harder. Overall maintained well with decent tees and greens. Sand traps appeared to have different consistencies that made things tricky. More distance markers would help the first timer. Good accessibility to downtown Charleston and decent value for money. Don't compare this to a private or semi-private facilty when considering amenities.

Place to play after a heavy rain...

I was in the area for a meeting and played my first round of golf in South Carolina at Patriots Point. It rained 5 inch the previous day and the course wasn't a pool as you'd expect. It was great. The 17th hole was pretty....

Great Experience

Played Patriots Point on Labor Day. While I have played this course before, i really enjoyed this round. Pace of Play was great and course conditions were great for how hot the weather has been lately.

Front desk staff got us out early. Only drawback was the lack of beverage service on the course.

Aerated greens made putting difficult

It was like putting on a waffle. Otherwise playing alongside the ocean is a great experience.

We had a great time playing and the course was fun and challenging. Only thing is you better be early because on time is late to them.

17th hole is amazing

Course overall in great shape. They had just aerated the greens so I couldn't give it a 5 but I'll be going back.

Friendly muni course

The course and area had received tons of rain so it was cart path only. Not a big deal as most holes run parallel. Easy driving course with few hazards. Tee boxes are not very level. Fun course to play. For Bermuda greens mid summer I expected a little better but they were ok but I am a bent lover.

Great location

Course drained well after heavy rain the nite before. Pro shop stall was very friendly. Fairways were in good condition. Greens held and rolled well but did have some brown areas. Overall it was a good experience.

Beautiful Scenery, Great Layout

What a gem...Greens rolled true and fast. Great finishing group of holes on the water. Very windy but comfortable to play in. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful and polite. Worth the trip from Jedburg

Nice views

The course was pretty nice, it was just a little to windy with the gusts coming off the ocean,. Greens rolled pretty well and the fairway was hard.

Flat with lots of water

The staff were very cordial and helpful. Tee boxes, fairways and greens well maintained. Cart paths were bumpy and need some repair. Greens were slow but true. Sand bunkers were decent. Lot of water on this course, with some tight fairways. I would recommend putting a marker showing the layout of the hole at each tee box. Overall, I enjoyed playing here. Very beautiful course for an ocean view track. I will try to play here again when back in this area.

Slow play, sketchy greens

It's an $80 location with $80 scenery, but $20 greens. Great views of Charleston Harbor, but that can't overcome the below-average condition of the greens. For the price, you expect a lot more. That, along with the five-hour pace of play, makes this course hard to recommend.

NIce course but crowded

Course was in great shape but very crowded and overpriced if not for golfnow or some other deal. Great views of the oceans on the last 3 holes.

Ocean breezy nice and easy

Hit it straight! Greens are slow now and the bunkers are a little hard. Reminds me of the golf courses in Hawaii. Probably gets better after the aeration phase and also the rain. Overall I enjoy!

Nice, tight course that rewards accuracy.

Was in very nice shape. Accuracy off the tee is a must. Greens are in good shape. There was no on - course beverage cart, but there was water was cold at well spaced intervals.
