Quality of the course didn't justify the cost
Course was in extremely poor condition. I would not play there again
Really nice deal on GolfNow
Everything about this place is above average. Go play there soon.
Beautiful course
Great course!!! Beautiful scenery!!! A little windy but that's to be expected on the harbor. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend playing this course if your in the area.
Nice Links Course
Nice practice facilities for all parts of your game. Pretty straight forward flat coastal links style course. Plenty of water & wind to challenge you on the back 9. Beautiful views from everywhere on the course. Greens are a little too firm & don't hold well, but putt pretty true once your on the putting surface. For the money, it's a must play.
average
The course overall was average. I think the layout of the front nine was not as nice as the back nine because it was a ton of easy shots. The course is very short and as a long driver most part 4 could be reached in two with a less then 150 yard approach shot. The front nine pace if play wad extremely slow with almost being 3 hours by itself. When the marshal came up which was only once he told our group to stay on top of the group in front of us which was holding everyone up. He must have said this to the group behind us too because there was a ton of shots played into our back pocket.
As for the course condition the tee boxes were nice. The fair ways we mowed well but extremely bumpy and the rough was not a but of trouble. The greens were hard and fast. Play your shots short unless you have a high loft with a ton of back spin. I will say for once I didn't mind the bunkers they were very nice and not overly filled like some courses do.
Overall I gave it an average as it just didn't stand out to me. I could play a course of this caliber back home for less money but I may play here again if someone invited me. My two points of improvement for the course would be pace of play and fairways.
Links course with nice view of Charleston.
I hadn't played this course in about 15 years. As with links courses you have to contend with the wind. Greens are over seeded with rye this time of year and were lightning fast.
Fun course to play, one of my favorites in the Charleston area.
great, picturesque Charleston course
If you are looking for a great course, with beautiful views and some challenging holes, try this one. The 17th hole can play an 8 iron or if the wind is up you might need a 4 or 5.
The course layout compliment the beauty of the surrounding views.
Staff were superb!! The greens are challenging but fair..
Good Layout but not good for the money
I played the day after Thanksgiving and granted there had been a lot of rain earlier in the week and had some impact particularly with the number of leaves on the course and the less than ideal conditions around the greens. Fairways were ok, but there has been a tremendous amount of settling on the course causing many bumps in the fairways as well as the tee boxes. The greens where however in excellent shape. The layout is good and challenging and the last four holes are tough and also a great view. However, for the money I did not find this course a good value. Pace of play was not good, but there were a lot of golfers out that day, which is even more reason not to allow a fivesome out which happened in the afternoon. I'm sure the area calls for higher green fees, but paying more than $40 to $45 currently would be too much.
Very Challenging and Convenient Course
I played in the build-up to a big storm, which produced some great links style conditions, and I was able to fly through 18 holes in under two hours! I really enjoyed the course and hope to be back.
Just a great golf experience
This course has a great location and was recommended by a number of hotels and people I met downtown. When I arrived the staff was welcoming and willing to help. The pro shop staff made sure we left with a six pack of beer which the prices were great for their location. The golf course was in great shape. Yes it does have bumps in the fairway but that is because i guess its the way the ground has settled over the years since this course is actually below see level. The greens are not overly fast or difficult and the last four holes are a great way to finish especially if its windy. I am new to the area but I had a great time for a great Value!
Below Average conditions
This course has a few nice holes and a good number of plain holes. The course offers some nice views on the back nine. Very over priced for the condition an
Always enjoy playing this cours
The only negative when we played was that we had to play the front nine twice because they were overseeding the back nine. We actually played from the white tees on the front and the blues on the second nine which made for an interesting round of golf since we ended up playing about 6850 yards which is on average more than 600 yards longer that what we normally play.
Disappointed
The greens had been over seeded and topdressed so they were unable to cut the greens. I understand that needs to be done but then their rate should be adjusted accordingly. Tee boxes are in dire need of leveling. On hole 14 , which was also poor condition, the tees were set in a severe uphill/side hill position. A flat spt could not be found.
The staff was very friendly.
We played Charleston National a few days before which was a great layout and in very good condition. Patriot Point left me disappointed in comparison.
course is in good condition, but always windy
Patriots Point is next to the harbor and is always windy. Wind is the most prominent feature of the course. Scenery is better than average and course is in good shape, but has too many out of town players, who slow things down.
Convenient, but course needs attention, especially fairways on front 9.
We had an enjoyable round of golf at Patriot's Point last week and pace of play was good. The greens were in good condition and rolled true. The fairways however needed attention and the front nine was badly scarred with unrepaired divit marks. Cart paths also are badly in need of repair. Average to easy difficulty with some good levels of difficulty on the last 4-5 holes.
Good course, good range. Lumpiest fairways ever.
Good course, good range. Lumpiest fairways ever (made the cart ride bumpy, rather than causing bad lies). The course is easy--fairly wide open, but with enough trouble available to provide some challenge. There are some risk-reward opportunities, but the course is mainly a straight-forward course with little requirement to work the ball.
Expected More
I played the coarse with the discount through golf now, I was very disappointed in the shape of the coarse, for all that it has to offer as far as its location and its breath taking views I expected more.
The tee boxes were in very poor condition, Greens not so well either covered mostly in sand or patched , the fairways seemed to be in the best of conditions
Patriots
Fun course on the coast. The staff is friendly and the course is in very good shape.
