Hole 3 par 5 Photo submitted by Rick9857150 on 09/10/2013
Challenging
This is not your average wide open, bash it downrange type of golf course. With the twists, turns, elevation changes, and undulating greens, it takes planning to make a good score.
The only 2 issues that need addressing are the cart path conditions and that the sand bottles have been empty during my past 3 visits.
I always enjoy playing here because it plays differently and requires thought and planning. If you can shape shots and know you club distances, you should enjoy this place.
Regression
Good layout. But terrible condition. Fairway grass is long as the rough at other “nice” courses. Golf carts barely make it up hills, break lock only works half the time. Greens are absolutely terrible. They spent all that money last year on Hole 9 and it didn’t work. Might as well skip it bc the green is full of sand and dead grass. The new owners have let this course go drastically down hill the last 2 years
More bad than good
Wasn't a good overall experience. Our golf cart broke down on the first hole and had to walk back to the clubhouse. The course is under construction and from the looks of it that's been going on for some time. Very blind course so I wouldn't recommend playing it without someone who knows the layout. Greens rolled true minus the 70 yard hole that is shot from 50 foot above so you can only expect that to play like your putting in a parking lot . Pace of play was good for not having a starter.
Almost done with improvements
The course needs a forward tee box for juniors, and people who love the game, but just can't hit it as far
Has potential, Will try again another time
I didn't "dislike" this course, but I also played on one of the special Hot Deals for the Christmas season.
The layout is actually fun. It provides a nice mix of challenge with decision making, but it also has some pretty forgiving spots on the course. Pretty much every hole has some type of elevation change. The greens were not too fast.
It looks like they're still updating the course. Hole 13 was closed so the guy in the pro shop said to replay either 1 or 10. That made it play par 71 instead of 72 (13 is their "signature" par 5).
The carts have GPS which is nice, but they have issues which cause your cart to shut down if it decides you are in an area you shouldn't be on. I had to drive down the cart path on hole 13 in reverse, because one of the course workers said they have to fix the GPS.
All in all, in its' current shape, I'd play this on a deal, but not full price. It will be worth another try in the future.
Good for the price
Even though it was still under construction it was a lot of fun and you could tell they are putting some love into it.
Very enjoyable!
The course has been under construction/improvement for a couple of years now, and it is very much a positive work in progress.
The layout of the course is very challenging with the blind curves, hills, valleys, slopes, 60’s/70’s era fairway widths and slow rolling greens. You will definitely be doing mental calculations plotting your route throughout the course instead of just slamming long drives down range.
The cart paths are still in rough condition, but it is understandable with the construction. The carts are current production with GPS screens. The putting green is moderately small, but big enough to warm up your putter and get the green speed down before play begins.
I have thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and will definitely be returning again. I look forward to seeing it once all of the work has been completed.
Don't Play
Course is under serious repairs but besides that, the front 9 which is all we played since we hated it and quit after that is just a bad track. We don't know how the back 9 is like but if they are anything like the fromt 9, it would be bad too.
Will Not Be Returning
Clubhouse didn’t have ANY pencils for the scorecard. Major backlog with no starter put us behind schedule before we even teed off. The foursome in front of us paid no attention to anyone behind them & wouldn’t allow us to play through. After 5-1/2 agonizing holes we finally just drove around them. Two holes on the course were under renovation (no one told us this & still paid full price). One of those “holes” was 78 yards. You literally were putting on a. Fairway on both of those.
The only thing okay were the golf carts.
I wish I could give this 0/5 stars it was horrible. Will not be returning and will tell all my friends to give business elsewhere.
Slow
Had groups of six or more playing together. Course is closed in section 13 is not there at all now. Got cut back through everyone.
Good shape, will be really good after construction
Haven’t played here in 2 years. Course is in better shape than before. Will really be nice once all the construction is done. Played early in the morning so pace of play was fine.
Palmetto Hills
Course was in good shape, a couple of holes were make shift holes but other than that it was good
Palmetto Hills
Course was in decent shape, they were doing a work to the course but overall I enjoyed the round
Course will be great when finished
Was very surprised at the quality of the course. When construction is finished and all holes are playable it will be awesome!
