Course Under Construction
I should have taken some pictures looking back, but golfer beware: if you are playing this course in the next 1-3 weeks the greens were just aerated and three holes (one being the signature 9th) are shortened/modified. The course did not bother to put the aeration notice on GolfNow and I went there expecting a solid to awesome round of golf based on the pictures and reviews on the app. What I found were backhoes, a fairway of red dirt and mud, a large timber burn pile, and greens that were simply unplayable. Maybe I should have called the course ahead of time but I was just traveling to the area and didn’t experience anything like this at the other three courses I played on my trip. Bottom line, I feel I got got because there was no mention of aeration or the course being under construction on the app.
Annoying advertising on golf cart screen
Course is having lots of work done which is good.
A few of the greens really need looks of work. The most annoying part is the advertising on the golf cart screen!!
It gets more enjoyable the more you play it!
The course is under construction but that wasn’t the problem. The only issue that I had with the course is that
There are so many blind shots due to hills, curve, etc , that it made me wish for a caddy!
The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Ups and downs
You absolutely need a Gps with slope to navigate this course. There is a screen on the cart but I found the plays like distances to be inaccurate, there are several blind shot holes so the course really needs to be played twice or at least drive way down the fairway see where your landing area is. Over all I totally enjoyed this course and had the weather permitted I would have played there the next day.
Hidden GEM
Really enjoyed this course. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Course was very nice to play had a couple greens that need a little TLC not an overhaul by any means. Also a couple holes have some work going on which would usually irritate me. But this ended up as a nice little hidden gem and will definitely be played again.
Lots of construction going on. Cart paths were torn up. One of the greens were in complete awful shape. Club house was outdated and basic but the staff were very friendly.
Course Under Repair
The course is under heavy repair. The price to play is very expensive for the area, and on top of that with the course being in such a poor condition and no discount. Can’t tee off from hole 1, hole 9 green is literally unputtable, overall the greens were pretty much awful. Honestly the worst course in the Upstate of SC right now. Especially with the price…
Terrible round, not the courses fault
Had a terrible round. My fault not the course. It was actually a nice round just missed some easy shots. lol Played very fast. Only waited on a 2sum on 17 and 18. They offered me to play thru but last two holes and I wasn’t in a hurry. They are working on the course to get it in better condition. Still can’t beat it for the price.
Cheap to Play
Was excited to play here with my adult son. We got backed up and behind schedule because of a group of 6 golfers playing a few holes ahead of us. Tgen our cart died so I called clubhouse and she put me on hold for 5 minutes. A guy showed up about 10 minutes later and had to reboot the system. Greens were not in good shape at all. Won’t play again.
Don't recommend
The course is very mediocre if you don't mind hitting a lot of your shots into way to many blind spots. Also if you have a cart plan on doing a lot of walking. For some reason our cart would just completely stop at random we would have to turn it off and back on just to get moving again. We couldn't even complete 18 holes because of it. Also the cart acceleration was awful. But on a good not the gps tracking in the cart was great because on multiple holes where you had to hit where you couldn't see (blind spots) it would let you know if another cart was close. But all in all I don't think I'll be going back and would not recommend.
A couple of nearly dead greens.
Some of the greens were nearly dead. Like the whole dang putting green. Not sure what they did. They might not come back this summer. #9 and another. Maybe a few more I was too drunk to remember, however they were severely damaged from lack of maintenance, or someone applying too much fertilizer, or the wrong chemical. Poa annua (a common weed) completely filling the fairways on every hole. Many tee boxes were mainly dirt. The employees were excellent, which is actually a big plus for me.
Worst Course in Upstate
I’ve played almost every course within 2 hes of Greenville and this is as bad as it gets. Don’t waste your time or money.
Everything about it was awful. I don’t know how they stay in business.
Worst course I have ever played
This course is a washed out gully. There are no fairways and no grass. Greens are as hard as concrete. They have no carts. I waited 35 minutes to get one coming in from a round. It broke down 5 holes in and so did some other peoples. I had to drive backwards for part of the day because the cart would not move forward. The cafe is closed. The cart path is broken up and there are chunks of asphalt scattered around the course. I don’t know how this place is in business or why anyone would play there.
Great mountain course
Course is in better condition than others for twice the price. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Lots of elevation changes and blind holes that force smart play not just grip a rip style. This is my go to home course even though it’s further away than others. No cart girls but the beer cooler at the turn is always ice cold.
