The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Do they have a greenskeeper?
Worst grassless greens I have ever paid to play on. Great layout that some money and a greenskeeper could turn into a terrific course.
Slowest, bumpiest greens I have seen in years!
Decent layout, but horrific greens. Slow and bumpy. Not worth the money — even on the “Hot Deal”.
Test of your Golf Game
Loved the layout of the course. The course made me map out my shots and have interesting decisions to make. Played irons more to set up water shots.
Greens were horrible but over seeding is to blame. It happens but when the greens come back this is a must play course. Enjoy
Pine Forest is one of the best layouts in the area. Tee to green very nice, but greens need some help.
Pine cones
Nice course a bit tough due to length and elevated greens. I enjoyed the pine lined fairways and giant pine cones.
Good place to practice your GIR
I have played Pine Forest a lot over the years. Every year, the course seems to be slipping downhill. While they have put money in the Pro Shop and Clubhouse, the course itself needs attention. The greens are in bad shape with weeds. I missed nearly every putt from within 6 feet because the ball bounced like it was in a pachinko machine. I stopped keeping score. It sucks when you pay $45 for a round and not get even decent greens. Also, the members can be a bit self righteous. Maybe they should just go private.
Beautiful Course
Love this course! Beautiful and well maintained. The only thing I can recommend is a Marshall to speed up play. We were behind a couple of fellows who clearly didn't exercise course etiquette.
Plays often
The course was in bad shape, perhaps due to the season, but the greens were the worst I've played in some time, they were slow and bumpy. The fairways weren't much better and most of the tee boxes were covered with goose turds. I've never played a course with as many geese on it.
OK COURSE...GREENS CRAP
The course in itself was not bad. From tee to the first blade of grass on the green is good. But every green had dirt patches everywhere on them. Other than the greens. The course was fine
Wet fairways slow play
Sunny day but due to rain the previous week the fairways were soaking wet. Not much you can do about that but keep the cart on the path. My main complaint is the pace of play. After 10 holes our twosome logged 3 hours. We gave up and drove home. No rangers nobody moving the 5-some (!) in front of us along. And they wouldn't let us play through. Wouldnt go here again.
Drainage Issues
Love the course, but it was so muddy today! I almost fell down a half dozen times...slipping in the mud.
