About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Par 72
Length 6905 yards
Slope 138
Rating 73.9

The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.

At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Very good course layout.

Our first round at Pine Forest. Pleasantly surprised at the quality and layout of the course. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff and starter(Harvey).

Great course, a little wet from rain but a very good (hard) test of golf.

The course needs major upgrading

The course needs major upgrading. Big holes and cracks on cart paths. Got to see a chiropractor afterwards.

Greens weren't cut or air blown, Ball was bouncing all over the place.

Slow play

The round took 5 hours, no kidding. They don't have a Marshall to ensure speed of play. Still, had a good time.

Water water everywhere!

We really enjoy playing this course because it is very challenging; water on every hole, narrow openings to the greens and plenty of hills and valleys! But all that makes it fun! The course is in fairly good shape with all the play it gets.

The staff have always been super friendly and accommodating.

Very nice!

I've played several courses in the Charleston area and for some reason I've never played this until now. I was pleasantly surprised by the elevation changes. There was water present on every hole, but nothing you couldn't deal with. The only issue we had was the greens were incredibly slow, but my friend mentioned it was uncharacteristic of those greens.

Greens were a little brown but not too bad. It hadn't rain in over 48 hours and the course was extremely wet from tee to green. Cart paths were extremely bumpy due to tree rooting.

Great course and great layout. Can’t beat the value for the price. Course is very difficult for the average golfer, long course and small greens. Water on every hole. Only really negative about it is the greens, extremely slow, some holes were like shag carpet. Hit it firm or you’ll still have ten more feet

Great Potential, Greens need attention

The greens were not what I would consider Country Club standard, more like a cut rate muni. Their was no consistency of speed or condition. They were mostly slow and almost all of them had areas with no grass.
