About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Par 72
Length 6905 yards
Slope 138
Rating 73.9

The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.

At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Solid course with friendly staff

The Club at Pine Forrest was a great corse for the money. The staff were extremely friendly and a pleasure to talk with. The course was in good shape with well maintained fairways and greens. They were not the most pure greens I've ever putted on, but the round was enjoyable none the less. The course layout is challenging enough to be interesting without being too daunting. I really enjoyed playing here and will go back.

Great Value

for the price (21$ for 18 w/ cart) , can't beat it.. layout is challenging yet good pace of play (3. 4 hrs). Cart paths are in rough shape on some parts of course but greens and fairways pretty nice. seems like they took out some water around a few holes making it a little less challenging.

Overall great course challenging yet affordable!

Great Experience

The course is challenging for golfers of all skill levels. It was in excellent condition, despite it being in the middle of a typical southern summer. I was most impressed by the friendliness of the professional staff, as well as the snack bar hostess. Quite frequently, discount golfers are treated with disdain, whereas here, I(and my guest) made to feel like full fledged club members. It was well worth the drive to Summerville.

This course has a great layout

Fairways starting to get dry and your ball may take and odd bounce toward the water.

The greens are better but still bumpy making it hard to hold your line when putting!

Great

What a great value. I'm not a golf snob by any stretch of the imagination. Kudos. There had been some rain but there was maybe 2 tee boxes that needed attention but I totally understand why. But that was it. Thanks.

Booking

I booked a tee time for 8:26 am, but was told that all early tee times are reserved for members. My receipt showed $27.00, was charged a higher amount. Will not play there again. Much nicer courses closer to where I live.

Toughest Course in Summerville

Very good layout. Greens are usually in good shape. The course does hold water so don't play after a huge rain. Wait a few days for it to dry out. Some say this is toughest course in the Charleston area so if you want a challenge then play here.

June 10

My wife and I played 9 holes on this course.

Decent course plenty of room to play

Had a single come up on us pretty quick. Let him play through. Greens were rough. Airated recently.

Fairways great shape. All in all. Good deal

Love the greens and fairways. Just wish the residential housing wasn't so close to the course, but love the course!!

Great course to play

This is a great course to play. Pace is sometimes slower than I would like but that's not the courses fault when 4somes won't let a single play through. But I still keep going back. Greens are challenging to read (at least for me) but fun.

Every thing were good except slow green speed.

Why they left slow green so long time?

Nice round of golf

This course was very enjoyable to play. Many holes were very picturesque. Nice challenging holes. The grass wasn't perfect and greens were a bit slow, but, this was my first time playing in South Carolina, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect for that time of year.

Not for me

Greens slow and hard. Half Fairways need grass. Layout is good. Course has great potential but lacks attention.

A very beautiful course.

The weather conditions were not terrible. We experienced a little rain at the turn, otherwise, it was warm and muggy. The course was in very good shape. There were some odd color areas on some of the greens, but it did not seem to affect the roll of the ball. I would go back for sure.

Hidden value

Good bang for the buck. Challenging yet good layout. Elevated greens make the difference. Always play at off times and no seekends so can't say how pace would be on peak times.

Love this course!

As always it was an enjoyable day! Course staff is friendly and helpful. Course is challenging but not punishing so bring your "A" game. Condition is great but the greens are a little slow. They are consistent though so once you adapt it's ok.
