The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Nice Course, but Pace Too Slow
Stopped to play a round by myself, hoping to get 18 played in a reasonable time. No starter and no other players in sight when I hit the first tee. Looks promising, or so I thought. At the third hole, out of nowhere, I have another single player breathing down my neck. Not wanting to be rushed, I let him play thru. After that I encounter a single walking, a twosome taking forever looking for balls in the woods, and several other slow groups. Finally I had to skip 10, 11, and 12 just to get some breathing room. What started as a nice round had gone south because of all the distractions. It's a really nice course, but they need to have a starter controlling the spacing of players. I started at 230pm on a Wednesday, and didn't expect a logjam. Also, if you hit into the woods, take a quick look for your ball, then drop one within a minute if you don't find it. I could have written "War and Peace" while some clowns in front of me looked for their balls. One more thing.....no radios allowed on golf carts. Other players don't want to listen.
2nd Time
Pretty decent course. I'm REALLY new. Enjoyed it overall. Little too much water for a beginner.

Pine Forest in January
The weather was just great, the coarse was still very damp but playable, greens were good.
Thank you for playing our course in the winter! We are so glad you found the conditions up to par. Hope to see you back soon.
For the money, best deal around
Can't beat the price. Great track. Drove from charleston just to play it.

A Great Course for a Great Price
I started playing golf less than a year ago, but have fallen in love with the game since. This course has definitely played a role in that. Great facilities, helpful personnel and a distinct lack of snobbishness from players and staff makes Pine Forest a great place to learn the game, or to challenge yourself to improve. Great clubhouse and a great course. Lots of water, so be sure to check the signs and scorecards. The only thing I have ever not liked about this place, is that 3 times that I've gone to play a round, someone has bungled the maintenance of the driving range so that it is unusable. For the advanced, maybe that's not a problem, but for a novice like me, I need to get in all the swings I can before a round. So call ahead to check on the range. Love The Club at Pine Forest!
A Quickie
When I got to the course at 8am I realized that I was the first golfer on site. The day was scheduled for rain, and no one else showed up early. As a result I played a two and a half round and was having breakfast at 11am. Had a ball.
We are so glad you had so much fun at the course! We hope to see you back soon.
9 at Pine Forrest
Took in a quick 9 at Pine Forrest. Weather was great for December, 75 degrees. Other than the course still being a little wet from all the rain a couple of days earlier, had a great round!
Thank you for the review! We are happy you had a good time. We hope to see you back soon.
Great Golf
The weather, course, carto and the staff where great. I will play again.
We are so happy you liked our course! Can't wait to see you back soon.
Great Course
I have played all the courses that are on GolfNow around the Summerville, Goose Creek and Moncks Corner that are in the 20-30 dollar range. Pine Forest was by far the best one of them all. It is a challenging course but it isn't outrageous. There Tee boxes are best best iv'e been on around here, there actually flat!!! The grass was in great shape and greens were perfect. I would recommend giving this course a chance, I will defiantly be going back.
Thank you for the great review! Come back to see us soon.
Not a good case to base review on
Was our first time on the course. Been wanting to play it and finally had the opportunity with a great "Hot Deal". Problem was it was a light rain, windy and 40 degrees. Paid for 18, only played 9. Wife quit because of cold after 6 holes. Rushed the last 3 in. Course layout is very enticing and want to come back in better weather to enjoy it. Being fall and raining, there were a lot of leaves and debris on the greens so hard to judge the overall condition. But definitely makes we want to come back and play this course in perfect conditions.
We are sorry about the weather conditions but we are glad you enjoyed your rounds! Come back and see us soon.
"Amazing experience for a great price"
The course was beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the price was great! I will definitely be playing this course in the months to come.
Pine Forest
Pine Forest is a fun course...in good shape...challenging course, lots of tiered greens
love this course
if you are in the Charleston sc. area you need to play this course.
I WANTED HARD
I got it. The weather was light rain all day, and this course ate me up. If you are getting better and want to be challenged by the hardest course in SC ...play this one. I made pars on 3 out of 4 par threes and on last 4 holes coming in. Cant wait to play on a nice hot day went greens are rolling, cause they are nasty!
Great Layout - Hidden water !!
First time playing the course. Loved the layout however there is hidden water on a number of holes. Not only hidden from the tee but also the approach shot. No yardage books available, no GPS on the carts. You only find out when you reach into you bag for another ball.
FANTASTIC LAYOUT...VERY SLOW GREENS
I just returned from our trip to Santee SC. I wanted to pass along some information about Pine Forest golf course.
THE GOOD
This course was beautiful. The layout was tremendous. Every hole was completely different from the next. There are tall pine trees and water on almost every hole. It was a superb design.
THE BAD
The greens were like putting on molasses. They were so slow. I asked when they were going to cut the greens and I was told that they were already cut. It was like putting on someones 5 day old beard. Putting was no fun at all. You could not stroke a putt. You had to blast it and hope that it stopped near the hole. It's a shame because it is one of the best layouts I have ever played.
Great course for the price
The course was in great shape and a very good value for the price, I just wish they would have given yardage books. Being a first time player of this course and not playing with someone who knew the layout, we had a hard time knowing where to hit it.
We are so sorry about the pace of play on the course and the radios in the carts. We would never want you to have a bad experience. We hope you will give us aother chnace, Please email me directly for a promo code CharlotteTeeTimes@aol.com
