The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

overall great experience
We have golfed the course numerous times and it's always enjoyable. It was pretty wet in a few areas but understandable with the recent weather. The tee boxes were great, the greens were in good shape. We enjoyed the sunshine and another wonderful day at Pine Forest.
fair course
nice for the price. challaging with elevated greens.
Worth the drive.
Great staff, and course. Great place to play, and a great value.
Challenging but fun.
I have played this course several times while visiting the Charleston area. With it's raised, contoured greens, humps , hollows and water on most holes, the course presents all the challenge you could ask for while still being fun to play. It took me four rounds to finally break 80 from the blues.
Because of the recent ice storm, many pine limbs and branches are still piled at the edges of fairways, somewhat complicating matters if you stray from the fairway into the pines that give the course it's name. The greens are also a bit bumpy at the present. Nevertheless it is a great track that will be terrific when it greens up and the greens improve with the weather.
I would highly recommend this course as a must play for visitors to the area who are reasonably seasoned players who enjoy a challenge.
Good course-long wait
Took my 7 year old to play. Staff was extremely friendly and engaging with my son who is new to the game. Course was extremely crowded but it was the first really nice weekend of the year. Had to wait over 25 minutes just to get a cart and the back up on the tee boxes was pretty bad. Course was in great shape considering the ice storm the previous week.
Great value
We played in feb so conditions were not what I would expect in season. Nice layout. Very tough for me from white tees. I am a 16 handicap and struggled. I would play again and recommend. Next time I'll try gold tees.
GREAT COURSE
CAN'T WAIT FOR FAIRWAYS TO GREEN UP.GREENS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION.
Not for the average golfer
This course was not designed for the average golfer! I am a 8 HCP and felt this was one of the most difficult course in the area. I felt the staff was very friendly and the facility was great. The course was well maintained for this time of year. All in all I felt it was a pretty decent golf experience.
Too tough for me
Water in play on most holes. If you cant carry the ball more than 225 yards on your tee shot better play the yellow tees. Keep it in the fairway or your going to have a sidehill, downhill lie on most shots. Was pretty wet but 90* on most holes. Nicest bunkers I've seen in awhile. After shooting several good rounds I was brought back down to earth after this round.
great fun
this is a challenging coarse, but great fun with your friends. water and trees everywhere, so plan your shots carefully. also a great place to work on your game as a single. I always enjoy this coarse.
Lots of fairways slop towards water.
Accuracy pays extra dividens and pick a good landing spot because several of the fairways feed towards water. The greens were spotty and fast.
I got a great deal through Golfnow so the round was a good value for the money.
Long
This course is excellent for the winter in , greens are nice.
A+
Great course. We'll worth $26 on golf now. Would definitely go back. Course was soaked and was cart path only but I was fine with that.
Accuracy is the key to fun here
This course has a lot of undulation from the fairways to the greens. Placement will help you enjoy your round, not length. The shape of the greens can be a bit inconsistent this time of year, but once you figure out the pace you can make some putts. Friendly staff with a facility that can satisfy any of your needs.
Over priced beverages
Food and drink are over priced. Course is in good shape
Excellent Course in great condition for December
Excellent course especially for the price would recommend this course to anyone looking for a great course for a great price!
Greatcourse for this price
Although the fairways were soaked in spots the course was in great condition for this time of year. Greens rolled true. The only negative would be I ;lost 2 balls that had to be plugged in the bermuda rough near the greens. I know they had to be plugged because I found other balls that were plugged that people gave up on.
excellent course
This course is tight with water everywhere, the greens were rolling true ! If you decide to play this course and your not hitting it well, stock up on balls because you're going to need them ! Enjoy!!!!!
Great course, very strategic but fair.
Not an exceptionally long course but it does have some demanding holes. More important than length is course management. The layout provides a variety of challenges from strategically placed water to undulating greens.
i totally enjoyed this course and will play it again and again.
challanging course, lot of water, narrow fairways
Nice challenging course with need to hit the ball straight. Pleasant surroundings, some long holes especially some of the par 4's. Course is in nice shape and maintained well. Enjoyable to play.
