The Club at Pine Forest
About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

Fairways and Tee Stations need attention. Overgrown with weeds
Course is challenging. No starter or rangers to regulate the speed of play.
Challenging fun.
Great conditions. The fairways are tight. Staff was very friendly. I will be playing this course again.
Great course for the price on Golf Now
Challenging but fun course which played with some hidden hazards to a newcomer. Course and greens were in good shape and the course played for every club in the bag.
Call ahead
The course fairways ,rough, and greens were not cut. Hard to find ball in the rough. I've played there before and it was in wonderful shape. If everything is cut, its well worth the money. If not, there a better courses to play in Summerville for the same price.
The course was in need of attention. The fairways were in bad shape and the greens were so-so. The view was beautiful.
The course was a great challenge, just the condition was not what I was expecting. Especially since I played three others that weekend.
Pine Forest - Value, Busy
Course was in nice condition and is demanding for players of all skill levels. I might suggest to those who fade/slice consistently: play the right side of the tee and aim as far left as possible as there is water on the right on the vast majority of the holes. Water near the green on many holes requires good iron play as well. #10 is especially "interesting" with water crossing the fairway twice, the first being a 190 yard carry and the second (from the tee) about 280 yards out. There isn't nearly as many trees as I would have thought and a more suitable name for the course would be "Pine Creek." If you have a hard time keeping the ball in play, this course will quickly turn into a nightmare, so bring plenty of balls.
My only real complaint was that I was scheduled to start at 09:24, was there on time and got asked to start on #10. When standing on the tee and about to pull the trigger, the starter comes up and asks the two gentlemen I was paired up with and I to move past the ladies in front of us and start on #12 instead. Apparently, there was some scheduling issues of with some sort of ladies function.
Overall, it was a fun time and by getting a tee time online the day before, I was able to minimize the cost @ $18.00 which is a good deal.
great friendly staff
staff was very friendly and helpful. course was well maintained and in great shape. perfect timing, not many golfers on course
GREAT CARACTER HOLES,
I WILL PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN SOON. I AM
NOT A LONG DRIVER, BUT I DID HAVE SEVERAL
GOOD HOLES AND 3 PUTTED ONCE, NOT EASY
TO GET TO THE GREENS..
Try it!!
Beautiful course. Very challenging, so if you're not hitting it straight you probably won't enjoy yourself. Plays longer than it reads, and the greens are all elevated and diabolical. Kicked my butt, but it's a great round of golf for the money.
This course was outstanding.
The staff was very friendly, lay out of the course was great, course was in excellent condition, greens rolled true. This was my first time playing this course, I will be back very soon.
Slow Play
No one out on the course on a Saturday to maintain pace of play. Waited on every hole. It was a long Saturday.
pace of play
I have played this course about 5 or 6 times. The pace of play leaves something to be desired. My round yesterday took almost 5 hours. The back nine was way too packed. At one point there were five groups on one hole from tee to green.
course was well maintained.
Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. Elevated greens were challenging and rolled true.
Outstanding
It is one of the best in the Summerville, SC area, very well maintained.
Very challenging course
Water Water Everywhere. Narrow fairways make this course very good. Course is a hidden gem.
Beautiful and challenging
First time playing the course, and my favorite part was the greens. The most undulating I think I've ever seen or played on. Not perfect conditions, but great for August and rolled nicely. Played Monday at 11 and there was no one out there. Could've easily played as a twosome in under 3 hours. Tough course, but beautiful and very interesting. Fantastic deal for the money it cost ($18 for 18 holes). Can't wait to play again--just hope my game is in better shape next time!
Nice layout with a good variety of holes. Friendly, laid-back staff. Excellent greens.
I would have given the course a higher overall rating, but playing conditions prevented this. The course was very, very wet (from both recent and on-going heavy summer rain events), which of course could not be helped. However, most of the sand traps were basically unplayable with little real sand in them and severe erosion problems in many as well. Also, a good GPS unit/phone app is essential, as there are several "blind" water hazards that jut out into fairways. That said, it is a very good layout with excellent bermuda greens. I would like to return some day and play it under dry, fast conditions.
Low Country Parkland
Really fun course. Makes you use most if not all your clubs.
I will pray here again.
This is a challenging course, nice scenery, friendly staff
