About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Nice course to play
The maintenance of the course is needed to improve. But it is still good course to play.

Brutally slow round and goat track conditions
The round started late, took 5 1/2 hours so we waited on EVERY shot, and the tee boxes and fairways were not well maintained. Greens were generally in good shape.
Saw a few rangers driving around, but had no impact on the pace of play. Need to add more time between tee times.
Exterior of the clubhouse was very run down and the driving range was closed / being redone.

Course same as last year. FYI, driving range not ready for a few more months
The driving range is stripped and is being rebuilt. Only the left side poles are barely installed today. It will be closed for at least a few more months.
Course is about the same as last year. There is less crab grass but most of the course is half and half grass and bad dead patches. Some holes are worse than others.
Greens were mushy today, overwatered, and so some are starting to grow moss and getting fungus-y, they need to be careful so they don’t kill them too badly. They all needed a press and roll to firm them up and dry them out a little, but being as it is considered a Muni level still at cheaper prices, the soft conditions are what you’ll get for now, I guess.
Obviously the new owners are putting in the work.
Can’t wait for the place to get back to its former Robert Trent Jones glory. Because if it’s in top shape it’s a great course.
The cool breeze was nice today but it was blowing quite a bit.
I like that Hole 12 Par 3 next to the clubhouse and apartments will be playing the longer back right green, it’ll be a great hole when it’s cleaned up. I hope they keep this long par 3 style. . The bunkers are firm but at least they are raked nicely.
Go play it but don’t expect anything better than Muni levels at the moment, pay them to help them make some money so that the place can come back sooner!

Greens in great condition, course condition is getting better. Course improvements are on-going and will eventually improve the course immensely.

Tee boxes
The new owners are clueless to the fact that they have the worst tee boxes in 3 counties. The greens are flatter than the tee boxes. Starter Dave is an asset to this course,he always accommodates efficiently.. Aaron in the shop is also great,and the lady that's always at the counter is excellent. The restrooms MUST be a health code violation, they're horrible.

Greens ok. The rest not.
I tried to enjoy playing here for the first time. First tee was extremely backed up went out 30 minutes late. 3 hour front 9! I left at the turn. Greens in immaculate shape, fairways need a lot of TLC. I was told the course was just recently purchased. This place has a lot of potential but I’m pretty sure I won’t be returning.

Pretty course with nice mountain vistas but the fairways and rough need a lot of work . Way to many many gopher issues , lot of free drops from being in them though 😂😂
Got a good deal but the course in the condition it was in was a very big disappointment !! Nice greens but that’s not enough for return visit until improvements are done !

impecible greens
The course has new owners so they say give them about 2 years to make it very nice.
Greens are fantastic but the fairways are somewhat beat up and the rough, well its the rough! Sometimes just dirt.
Fees are lowest around Ventura Co. as it should be. Like I said a work in progress but if other courses are full up, fairly easy to book a tee time and have fun playing
